Can the Obama Presidency be saved?

Obama was elected because he's Black, new and not Bush. There's not much new in the people reacting to one party's disappointing performance by electing the other party. It happened with Clinton after Bush I, Reagan after Carter, and Carter after Nixon/Ford. The same is bound to happen with Barry since the people are starting to see what a fraud he is.

You're missing the point. The country is more polarized now that it has been in my adult lifetime, which dates back to Reagan. It is way beyond the point of getting your guy into office... more & more it's about screwing the other party just because it's the other party. I have friends (both Democrat & Republican) who work in the public sector & every single one tells me that things are different these days. They all tell me back in the 90's they would fight like cats & dogs at work and then go have a beer together afterwards... now you rarely see that.

I'm not saying the Democrats & Republicans need to hold hands & sing kumbaya, but they do need to put their petty differences aside & make an honest effort to find bi-partisan solutions to the problems we face.

There was a time, the time before Reagan, when elections were met with violent protests. Perhaps, "Morning in America" has ended, and it's time to get back to work.

Of course I know that... the Vietnam era, race riots, etc. We all know the saying "if you don't learn from history you're doomed to repeat it". As for violent protests we aren't far from it & if the rhetoric gets any worse we're bound to see it.

America has been violent, most of my life, and I think people have forgotten that. That is all I am saying. Americans have never been ones for holding hands and singing Kumbaya, that's the lesson here. If it's not the left protesting, than it's the right. Sometime politics are not involved, and it's just for fun. Other times, it's just a way of life, bussiness, nothing personal. Other times, it is extremely in your face, and very personal.

As for changing the topic I'm guilty of that in this thread, but it had nothing to do with protecting Obama... another poster used the Lockerbie bomber as an example & I threw in my 2 cents disagreeing with her. Trust me it's by no means a left wing conspiracy.
