Money and Government seems to be the bane of my existence. I wish I could afford a trip to England, but I don't even know how we'll get enough money to fly him down when his Visa is approved.... What's worse, is I work all day with really REALLY rich people... it makes me miserable sometimes, seeing how easy life could be for some of these people. Someday, I dream to be like them :D... except, I'll be with the love of my life, and not with people just because they want money... suppose I could look at the bright side... lol...

I hear you, that's my story exactly. Working so hard to get money for his trip here, a small wedding, and AOS, there is nothing left for a trip to visit before this is all over. I'm glad to see other people in that boat, it seems so many couples are making a trip to visit each other every six weeks or so on here. Which is wonderful... for them. lol

I hope you are all out of AP quickly. I'm following this closely for my own future reference.

I wish you all a long life full of love together. :)

Awww... thanks RoughSweet! Yeah, it is a little sad to read posts of these people that just hop a plane whenever they want... I have no idea how I'll be able to afford all this, but there will be a way... somehow....

Exactly the case here, as well. :( We've been stuck for 4 weeks, as of tomorrow.

Well for me and Nigel, he's a bachelor over there in England and has little expenses...sooo, this whole thing is on his dime....plane ticket, the k1, interview, medical, the adjustment of status the whole thing + a few months expenses when he's here. Lucky him his money is almost double ours here isnt it....so if you say the expenses in pounds, its less than us paying it in us dollars right? Oh I so wish I could just take a month off work and just fly up there....but nooo, I have 1700$ for a Vegas wedding thats it and I'm not touching it, no way! I just keep saying to myself, maybe we will have a December wedding....we'll all know more around that time wont we-I'm sure of it! However i'd like it to be sooner, you know the holiday season is so bad for air travel but whatever.

Well, I don't know if this will help to cheer you up on the AP front, not much I could do there...

but I have been keeping a close eye on the London embassy timeline from receipt date to interview, because there was a lot of talk about how slow it's become. Two days ago their average was 82 days. As of yesterday it dropped to 74.

Maybe this will shorten the time folks are waiting for an interview and cut down on the NVC holding cases back before sending them on to London.

Just a thought... :)

hmm... 82 days, or 63 days.... Is that like USCIS saying it will take 5 months, when really it was 3? Hopefully... my goodness...

Chaz, I hope it is like that!

I got the 74 here... like I said, two days ago it was 82, so it's much improved...

http://www.visajourney.com/forums/index.ph...e-k1-historical

but Allie, I like 63 a LOT better, so let's go with that, LOL  I know that's the average, I was just offering up a theory on why they may be holding back cases at the NVC to give London a chance to catch up, if they were that behind.

Hey Chaz,

Sorry to hear that you've been held up at NVC. We were March filers through VSC and our case was dispatched from NVC to London on the day it was received. I've got no idea what, if anything, we did different from following the guides on here to make the case move through NVC like it did.

I wonder if VSC do anything additional to the case, that might explain the big difference in processing times with CSC.

Hope all gets resolved for you real quick.

Good luck.

Dom

So.... after reading through April and May K-1 Status update topics, I have noticed the tendancy for us UK immigrators that we all get stuck in AP almost immediately! This topic is for any discussions about NVC status updates, especially for those of us waiting for our packets to find their way out of AP and off to the London Embassy!!!

How many days have you been stuck? Any explanations for the difference between Administrative Processing and Additional Processing?

I found NVC had my packet on Friday, spoke with someone on Monday, and they said I was in Additional Processing, and there is no turnaround timeframe to go by on when they could send my packet to London...

Who has been sent to London? How long did it take for your packet to leave NVC?

Wishing us the best of luck!

~Chaz

I am a UK May filer too and I filed just a couple of days after you guys. My case has not yet been approved and the california service centre has sent me a RFE. I was surprised to receive this as our file was pretty tight. So I am wondering now if they trying to slow down the process at all levels for UK applicants...

There actually is not a tendency for UK filers to be stuck in AP. In fact, the opposite is true. UK filers tend to fly right through the process. AP is quite common for some of the high fraud countries, but the UK is low fraud so most people have no problems. I don't know if something has changed lately. Check out the UK forum and the 2009 interview thread. If UK filers are tending to get AP now, it's news to most of us.

I wish you all the best, and I hope time flies by for you.

You can see some of us on a chart here: http://apnvc.info/K1.html We've been in AP for 4 weeks. Our case is clean-cut. We cannot think of one reason we'd be in AP for so long. We're assuming it's random and just taking awhile.

Hello everyone i am a newbie here. i am an english and my fiancee is american.WE met in 2005 while i was working in america, i since worked in america 2006, then i got a 18month visa and worked in the states from june 2007 - December 2008. Since then we have been lucky enough to see each other every 5 weeks or so. ( i live with parents in london and save 85% of my wages) we got engaged on our 3 year annervesary while she was in london 2 weeks ago. Weve started to look at all of this paperwork and it seems very overwhelming.

We have evidence of being together like everyone else (phone bills, emails, pics together over 3 years, flights, bank statements, ring reciepts, all my visas paperwork over the years etc) But i also have a socail security number, american bank account and new york state driving liscence from when i lived there, do you think that would help the application at all? or will it have no effect on lenght of time??

My girlfriend is meeting with an immigration lawyer this week in newyork who says there are several ways to enter the country, i have a feeling some will be a little less above board than others!!

My main question is if we mail the petition off this weekend as planned, can we still visit each other in our respective countries?? the US embassy in london says yes as long as i have overwhelming evidence i am returning to england. But i heard many stories of people not being allowed to see each for over a year, ive even heard a lawyer say that! im verrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrryyyyy confused

Any information would be helpful!! im sorry if this is not the correct place to say all of this, im new to this.

The "AP" was one of the reasons we hired a Lawyer to help us along the process. I think the best thing to do is sit and wait sadly :(. I wonder why its happening to so many people from the UK, as far as I understand, the UK has all kinds of agreements with the USA to share information that the USA has with no other country in the world, so you think they would trust us a bit more!

Our lawyers told us that they have a tendency to put young couples in AP, or people with little evidence. Now I understand why we had to send photos, videos , phone bills, msn chat logs, and other things to the lawyers. I think we sent them a box of evidence in March to go through! LOL!
