I've been in the US now for 2 months on a K-1 Visa and have just got married.

My wife and I are just about to send out our AOS papers.

I already have a social security number, so, am I allowed to work whilst I wait for my green card to come?

To start work you'll need your EAD. Your looking at about 45-90 days yet. In the mean time you can get ready to start applying. Given the market and the job your looking for it could take awhile.

File EAD with yout AOS pepers so you can work when you get EAD.

You are not allowed to work at this time unless you got a temp EAD stamp at POE.

Technically not even then.

Exactly. For verification see the accepted proof of work authorization on the IRS I-9 form. That's the governing document for the employer. The EAD stamp is no longer on the list of acceptable documentation for the I-9.

if you filed EAD together with your AOS you have to wait for your EAD card to arrive before you can work.

Get your marriage license immediately and once you get the license paper then file for EAD/AP/AOS all together ASAP. That is the quickest and least expensive way.
