I am starting to search for non-stop flights from MNL using PAL and it seems that round trip tickets are like $300 less then one-way.

Anyone hear anything about people getting a round trip ticket and just not showing up for the return flight?

i suppose buying a one way ticket from agent is not allowed, but if you will buy one directly from the airline ticketing office is no problem. my husband (USC) was able to purchased a one way ticket from american airlines on one of his PI trips and was ok. buying a one way ticket in PI for US is no problem as well.

have a safe trip and welcome home!

Be careful in doing this round trip for one-way. I have heard that if you use a credit card for the puchase, the airlines will bill the difference if you don't take the second leg. I have never personally seen it happen, but I have read it in their TOS before. Also, if you buy it and only use the last leg, some airlines will cancel the entire ticket after a no-show on the first leg.

Just be careful and read the fine print.

Take the cheapest possible. If round trip is cheaper than one way then go for it

remember some airline will charge u penalty for the not using the return ticket, u make sure to read all the info about the ticket. i saw some where in vj about that. good luck, abby n sheryl

Our time line for CR1 visa took only 5 months and 1 week or 156 days; from the filing the I-130 on the 03-12-2009 to Approval of NOA2 on the 05/13/2009, then Interview on the 08/18/2009 at Manila, Philippines. We had a daughter on the 11-12-2010 named AISHA JOY means HAPPY LIFE.a1_opt-1.jpga2_opt-1.jpga3_opt-1.jpg

Great responses. After thinking on it myself for awhile I came up with another concern. If they see a round trip ticket and the return flight to Manila was not used maybe the DHS, FBI, USCIS, all those agencies may think that they have a bad person here wanting to do harm to the USA? Isn't that like some terrorist thing like come to the country and then not leave when supposed to? My sweetie is no terrorist to the USA, but we joke that she is crazy and will only terrorize me :bonk:

I will check with the airlines.

The airlines can not bill you more for not using the return ticket.

You can not use the last leg, if the first leg is not used first.

No, just give the aorline a call a couple days before the return flight is due and say you want to cancel it. I did it and they took care of it for me. Thatw as United though.

Me too! Hubby bought roundtrip for me since it was way cheaper than the one-way flights.

I feel bad for the airline though, probably they were calling my name a dozen of times when I didn't showed up! Haha!
