Tried posting this last week in another section but may get more results here.

On the 12th my wife passed the interview in San Jose, Costa Rica. I was there and was interviewed as well. After a few questions the lady said "she saw no reason to deny my wife and that she was approved". "Since the fingerprint results were not returned yet, come back in 2 days to pick up your visa." "It will be on this page (showed my wife where in passport it would be placed) and they will give further instructions when you recieve it". "Congratulations". She kept both my wife's valid Colombian passport as well as her expired colombian passport with old tourist visa in it(still valid but expiring at the end of this month) .My wife recieved a little white piece of paper, about the size of a business card, which stated to come and pick up the visa at the time and date specified. The lady had written in 14th @ 3:00.

When she went back on the 14th, as requested, she was told that her fingerprint results weren't back yet and they'd call her on Monday, the 17th.

On Monday (17th) they called and said that the print results were still not ready and that she was in further review. They said it was normal for this embassy (Costa Rica). They would call her back in 1, 2, 3, weeks or it may even take longer. What happened to it being approved? It's allready been one week with no calls. My wife intends to call them tomorrow. I have not recieved anything in the mail or e-mail either. Does this sound normal. They've checked her fingerprints on all previous visits to the U.S. pluss done all the background checks up to this point, plus have her police records (with fingerprints) from Colombia and Costa Rica. What's Up? Once again I thought approved was approved.

Checked the reviews for this embassy on this site and saw no mention of this being normal as the clerk stated to my wife. beginning to worry.

Yesterday my wife called the embassy in the morning but got the same run-around. Later that day they called my wife and needed to ask her a few questions. (coincidence???) They said her prints werent very clear on the machine. Asked her what she worked as when living in Colombia. What the names and addresses were for her parents, brother and sister. What they did. Then said all was good and they would call later this week. ?????????????? My wife, once again, asked if there was a problem and the lady said no. Just normal procedure for this embassy. I am so confused right now, as well as frustrated, because all the reports of this embassy on this sight show the benificiaries recieving their visas within a couple of days. it's been two weeks since the interview today. WHICH SHE PASSED AND WAS APPROVED!!!!
