I think every person has the right to have their life saved from impending death or harm. Anyone should be able to walk into an Emergency Room at any hospital and not be denied needed treatment because of inability to pay.

Following that line of logic - it makes more sense to treat them before they reach the point of needing emergency care.

What about babies? Your a joke! Thats right, babies arent ppl until their BORN!

So, what about them babies after they're born? Then you guys don't give a ** neither about the child nor the mother. If the child suffers some disease that the parents can't afford to have treated properly then that's on them. ** them and ** that dang child. Pro life my #######.

Now, now ,now, take a deep breath and exhale slowly. It will be fine.

As you know the system we have now will care for any new born child. They wont be thrown out into the dumpster if they are sick. Mom and child will be taken care of until its time to go out on their own, regardless of income.

There are roughly 8 million children in the US today that lack health insurance coverage and access to adequate health care. To sit there and pretend that all children are properly taken care of is ignorant at best. But sure, if it makes you feel good to be "oh so concerned" about the unborn while showing little, if any, concern towards the born children then keep at it.

The thing is, we already have CHIP (Children Health Insurance Programs) programs in most states and the qualifying standards are quite generous. (I don't qualify, but I almost qualify and I meet poverty standards by about 250%, maybe more.)

 Owned........Pawned

Yeah, very telling how some excuse ones right to "life", even a week before birth.

My friends, it's called "Plastic compassion".

In an early topic I documented how these Bleeding-Hearts, hardly give any one their own money, time... or even donate blood.

Now they preach to us.

Spare me.

You say that you support smaller government, less intrusion into the lives of it's citizens........ except when it comes to people choosing what they can and cannot do to their own bodies.

Secondly, that thread you posted was completely flawed and with NO statistical basis. Just because you post a series of statistics doesn't mean that they quantify anything.

Sit up straight while I school you a bit :D

Sure I support "smaller Gov" but not "no" gov, where did you get that silly idea?

And as for people "doing what they want with their bodies", it's actually you who might be more

hip-o-critical than me,

if you really believed people have a "right to do with their body what they please" you would not be in favor of such things as minimum wage laws... Who they hell are you to dictate to people what labor agreements they can make with someone else?

Class dismissed.

:P

Ahhh once again Danno, you fail. You should not speak of what you nothing of. How can you equate civil liberties with things such as economic policy? They have nothing to do with each other than two things you have no comprehension of. I dont' recall ever being in support of minimum wages, but then again, when did facts become part of your rationale. Your neophyte attemts to "school" just show your special needs class level of rational thinking.

That's what folks are doing - deny there is any kind of issue/problem/inadequacy - helps them sleep at night I guess.

Those who deny problems aren't meant to be Engineers.

Of course "Health care" is a broad term anyway.

IS dental care covered? Cleanings? Braces for unsightly teeth?

Would caps be a right or does the right end at extracting the tooth?

Is mental health also a right too? Suicide counseling? how about Marriage counseling?

Cosmetic surgeries? Breast implants after mastectomy? If woman just naturally has very small breasts... and it's causing her depression?

Do human rights vary from time to time or from one group of people to another or... are Human rights a constant?

Should a child die of hunger tonight? Should we feed that child cake? So many questions to ponder.

Of course not... why would you feed cake to a dead child?! :innocent:

The thing is that we still have about 8 million children lacking adequate access to health care. Yes, CHIP and SHIP have reduced the number of uninsured children but there's still a residual balance of 8 million children that go without. I always wonder why the supposedly pro-life crowd is always more concerned about the unborn children than they are about those that are born.

Hanging on to the myth I see.

In every measurable way, pro-life folks who tend to be religious out-give everything from time, money and even blood to help others.

These folks are much more likely than you (i'm bettin) to help in a soup kitchen, volunteer at school or run a Crisses pregnancy center.

Catholic Charites has been placing children with families feeding the poor and educating the less advantage for many decades.

There are any number of Religious run charities in your town and most run by people of faith.

Do you have any idea how many church supported Orphanages there are in this country, and around the world, not far from my house is one.

In fact, there is no impoverished country ....where Orphanages are not run or supported by this same block of people you slander.

Google Ethiopia and Orphange and see what you get.

It's one thing to score "points" on an internet board but to slander the very people who are doing the good work we like to see done is not right.
