I'm American and my fiance is French. I filed the I-129F in January. The NO1 is dated February 2, 2006. The NO2 is dated April 18, 2006. Our file was sent from the National Visa Center to the American Embassy in Paris on May 5, 2006.

Late May I was getting concerned because my fiance still hadn't received packet three. The Embassy faxed me a few days later saying, "We haven't received your file."

Actually they DID receive our file..... and it was received back at the National Visa Center May 25, 2006.

I tried tracking our file, but it was clearly lost because of the new IMBRA law.

I contacted my senator's office and "apparently" the file was sent back to Paris June 23, 2006.

STILL NO WORD ON PROCESSING....

IS THERE ANYTHING I/WE CAN DO? This is ridiculous!

We had to cancel our August 17, 2006 wedding. His family will be here in a month, but he won't. HELP HELP HELP!!

Check under the IMBRA tread for "Recalled by Mistake" by Stephane, also Paris embassy. My fiance is also in France, but he did receive Pkt 3 and sent it back to embassy May 5 prior to our file being recalled. My NOA 1 date is Mar 6, though, so we got snagged by IMBRA.

Stephane's posts show that they were also pre - Mar 6 so should not be subject to IMBRA>

These embassies were really caught off guard and covering their a**'s in triplicate I think. Very typical bureacratic reaction - I know, I am one.

Your fiance could try getting into the embassy in Paris on a Friday - they are only open in the afternoon on Fridays for walk-ins. Read Stephanes posts for more info. Trying to reach a live body in Paris is next to impossible I found. The call center guy at the number they charge 14,50 euros to connect with ( not even in Paris) told me the best way to contact them is to show up in person on Friday at the embassy. Good Luck! Please share your experience at the paris embassy!
