But when we turn to the Hebrew literature, we do not find such jokes about the donkey. Rather the animal is known for its strength and its loyalty to its master (Genesis 49:14; Numbers 22:30).

Howdy Amby! What are you gonna cook tonite for dinner? I love hearing ( and dreaming) about those dishes you come up with.

Hey :) I'm making turkey, stuffing, sauteed brussel sprouts, and an experimental green bean casserole for lunch. Should be ready in about 20 minutes.

Amby...do you have a turkey 'recipe'. My wife wants to try to make a turkey this year...and it will be her first time to attempt it! I told her...'just unwrap the turkey and throw it in the oven for a few hours'...but she didn't believe me!:no:

She said, 'Isn't there something inside the turkey?" I think she was talking about making stuffing the old style way...would you know how to do that too?

Peace,

Mark

I don't care much for the turkey, but the green bean casserole and brussel sprouts sound divine!

I put herbed butter under the skin of a turkey. Then I baste every 30 minutes. As far as stuffing I never stuff the turkey with anymore more than some herbs. For the green bean casserole today I made crunchy shallots and my own "cream of mushroom" with a large variety of mushrooms. I also used haricot vert. Brussel sprouts were done the only way I can get everyone to eat them. Blanch the sprouts in chicken stock. Render the fat from pancetta (or bacon), caramelize shallots in the fat, slice sprouts in half add into the bacon and shallot.

Collective farm raised Turkey a la Stalin... Gobble it up! seasoned with a little gunpowder and put a dash of C4 under the skin, serve to the enemy and they're good to go.

Finally checkin in....Nagilini so good to see you back in the saddle

Our weekend here was a complete washout, actually it rained 3 straight days and nights Thur-Sat

Sunday cleared up but this cold sh!t can take a hike

Nothing much exciting....hubby and I are planning to hit Eastern State Penn for some Halloween Fright..not sure what day but sometime this week.

Turkey? I find Thanksgiving to be one of the easiest and delicious meals of the year.

I don't think it is safe anymore to put stuffing in the cavity just because it adds more cooking time to the turkey and you need to make sure that it cooks all the way thru...so salmonella and such....

I haven't thought much about what I will make this year...it usually the same old same old...it would be neat to add some new things to menu this year.

I think Thanksgiving is the ONLY time I eat turkey...unless I happen to get a deli sandwich from time to time.
