Mark ~ It's disgusting here in NY too, rainy and cold. I hate waking up and it's still dark and crummy outside, it gives me like no desire to get out of bed. Poo!

Hey HermanaSusita,

I grew up down south in Texas. When I moved up to Michigan I lived right off of Lake Erie. The combination of a one hour time change, meaning the sun went down one hour earlier, and the fact that it is perpetually cloudy/snowy near Lake Erie in the winter time made those winters really burdensome…so, I can feel for you and imagine it is a similar experience in NJ. I really missed the sun during the Michigan winters, and also hated leaving work at 5PM and it was already pitch black and freezing outside :crying::angry:

Its better here near DC, where we’ve lived for a little over a year. Same time zone as Michigan, but not nearly as cloudy/cold…much milder winters

How is your husband adapting to the cold? That must be ‘foreign’ to him…

Thanks, R&M.....my worst nightmare is not waking up at all.

I have this recurring nightmare that I wake up in the middle of heart surgery and I can see all the blood and guts. That specific nightmare haunted me for nearly a decade. I would rather not wake up from a surgery than have to live through that.

He's a big baby. He's been here a year already and the cold still surprises him. I don't mind the cold so much but it's OCTOBER. It's not supposed to be like this for at least another month & a half. LOL.

I believe it was in the 30's last night here. Very cold today, too.

Don't just open your mouth and prove yourself a fool....put it in writing.

It gets harder the more you know. Because the more you find out, the uglier everything seems.

Well, my husband at age 17 had heart surgery and 2 years ago he had another which involved them taking the heart out of his body and he was skird he would never wake up....only by the grace of G-d he did. Your fears are most understandable.

But when we turn to the Hebrew literature, we do not find such jokes about the donkey. Rather the animal is known for its strength and its loyalty to its master (Genesis 49:14; Numbers 22:30).
