That's the reason we honestly do not miss cable TV. He can listen to NPR all damn day while working, and I watch hulu to catch up. the rest of the time it's either sex, or reading :hehe:

Very cool Len. Bren sounds like a very great guy...and a great couple...

I'm still a perpetual reader...which just fancinates my wife. She always used to tell her family/friends that I was a 'Worm of the Book'... ...now that she's been in the USA for a couple years she says 'bookworm'...but that makes it sound boring :luv:

70% of what I read is world religion (not just Christian)...its a great way to learn religion, but also culture and history. The other 30% is usually something ecomonics related usually related to global supply chains...because that also ties entirely into my desire to become immersed in the various 'worldviews' which shape lives.

I'm not terribly interested in politics though, because that usually strays away from the 'purity' which we can find in religion and economics...my opinion...

Happy BDay to Bren! :)

I am fascinated with the Hindu religion, and devour most of the books that I can get my hands on. I spent a year reading the Mahabarhata, and Ramayana, and then I've spend years reading/re-reading the Bagavad Gita (one of their bibles). It truly is amazing...so you can probably guess that I was overjoyed to once be able to live in India for a year and truly experience their faith. It was a tremendous blessing!

But my wife (then fiancee) was scared of India when she would come to see me there!

i want the details too. the looks of some of their idols honestly freak me out, though. but their religion is ancient, and very much a part of their entire culture and being.

Besides the Hindu concept of the Trinity (Shiva / Vishnu / Brahma) which closely echoes the the Christian concept of the Trinity (Father / Son / Holy Ghost), I am particulary interested in the Hindu's concept of feminity in the Divine (Dugra / Parvati / Uma / Kali) and its close ties to the Mariology of Catholicism, in particular.

Paz!

just a quick check in ladies and gents.

This is day #3 I am leaving work at 2 30 pm...unfortunately it isn't for my own fun or relaxation

Prayers needed folks. This has been the week from hell.

I briefly saw you discussing India and Hinduism.

Prior to my marriage I lived in India and visited there 2x. I was learning and practicing Hinduism.

Beautiful, welcoming country. Miss it dearly. It was where I found myself and peace.

I was at the height of my spirituality when I delved into it.....it will always hold my interest, admiration and affinity.

Have a wonderful weekend.

Catch you next week ;)

man I wish I had time to dicuss :(
