Hello! Just wanted to introduce myself!

My name is Sophie (AUSC) and my fiance is Martin (USC). :wub:

We met last year in College Station, Texas. I was living there with my family on a H4 Visa, and he was finishing up his degree at Texas A&M. My family decided to move back to Australia, but Martin and I continued dating long distance. After a couple of visits and over a year of dating, we got engaged in July!

We haven't filed our application yet because Martin is currently traveling around the states with a graphic designer project and can't organize forms while he does that -- we hope to file at the end of October when he arrives back home. In the meantime, I'm just trying to educate myself on the whole process, making sure I'm fully prepared for the journey we're about to take! I'm so grateful for VJ and all you helpful members! I'd love to make new friends, so feel free to drop me a line sometime! Especially any fellow Aussies!

I'm so excited about getting married and moving back to the Texas! :D

Visa Approved!

23/07/10 - Arrived in the U.S.

28/08/10 - Got Married

20/10/10 - Sent AOS

04/11/10 - InfoPass Appointment to request an Expedited AP

05/11/10 - Expedited AP Approved! RFE requested for AOS

01/02/11 - RFE sent

01/01/11 - RFE Received

01/12/11 - Biometrics taken

01/28/11 - EAD Approved

02/02/11 - AOS moved to CSC

03/07/11 - Greencard Approved!

Welcome Aboard!

Don't just open your mouth and prove yourself a fool....put it in writing.

It gets harder the more you know. Because the more you find out, the uglier everything seems.

hi there, im Donna, and Aussie, and my hubby is from Kentucky, and we are filing for CR1.. but he has relatives in Texas (Dallas) and we might be moving that way once im in the US and my green card arrives :)

06.19.2010 - papers arrived at Chicago lockbox

06.24.2010 - Check cashed

06.28.2010 - NOA1 Hardcopy received (9 days from the day they got our papers)

07.05.2010 - Received Biometrics Schedule (July 26)

08.05.2010 - Biometrics done! (had to re-schedule from 7/26 to 8/5)

08.13.2010 - Got my interview letter

08.20.2010 - EAD card on production

09.06.2010 - Got my EAD Card (62 days)

09.07.2010 - Applied for SSN

09.14.2010 - SSN Card received

09.16.2010 - Interview schedule (APPROVED)

09.20.2010 - Welcome Notice Received ("Welcome to the USA")

09.25.2010 - 10 yr Green Card received! (98 days)
