Its so dishonest though - taking something that happens already (and likely will under any system) and suggesting that it is some big new outrage.

Everyone should have a living will - it isn't something that should be left until you are at death's door in the hospital. Just don't think that anyone is obliged to honor it - they aren't.

Living wills are not legally binding and are already overruled under various State Laws that allow hospital officials to make these decisions on your behalf, regardless of your own wishes or those of your next of kin.
