why to deliver a baby abroad?

After reading several topics about children born abroad I became a little curious. Why people go abroad to have their children be born there?

A close friend of mine is gonna do it in fall. She is LPR, her husband is USC. She is going to her home country for the birth of the child because her husband is not in the USA and will not be here when she is due. Second reason is that she has a toddler already and no relatives in the USA to care for him when she is in the hospital. Finally, her English is very very bad, almost 0.

LOT cheaper! Especially in the Philippines. Plus they have family to help them take care of the kid.

In my country, you can get subsidies for medical checkups ($ depends on the city), childbirth ($4000) and child-rearing ($50-100 per child per month).

Raising kids is pretty expensive, so it is a big benefit that government pays off some of the cost.

Well we simply had the child abroad because it's where I ( beneficiary )was living at the present time. It's first now, a little later, that we decided to move our little family to the US. We're currently working on getting our son the dual citizenship and so far everything's been fine
