Hi friends,

We are going to turn in our evidence and timeline on the 4th of September. My questions are: (please answer them in order :star: )

1. Do you have to pay any LEGIT fees? (anyone bribe?)

2. How to request to see a CO?

III. Should I or my wife go turn in the documents?

4. How was the experience at the window where you turn in the doc?

5. How much did you turn in? Everything you have?

6. Do we tell them that we're waiting ourside for their decision?

7. If my wife was to turn it in, who would she talk to about my attendance?

These are just some questions that I have so far to prepare our trip to the Consulate. Wish us luck and thank you so much my brothers and sisters who help us out so far.

I'm confused on #1. You're asking if anyone bribes the US embassy????? HUH?????

Our timeline:

2/88: We met in Sydney, Australia at a youth hostel! He's Finnish, I'm American-both were in our early 20s at the time and fresh out of college (so couldn't afford to visit each other's countries after that!). We had a three-day romance, then went our separate ways. He actually was going to Sydney a week later, but decided at the last minute to cut his trip short in another country and go early. Wow.

1988-1998: Wrote "snail mail" letters/sent Xmas cards, but lived our separate lives. I married someone else, divorced in 2006...he lived with someone for years and then that ended.

10/08: Because of a series of random life events, I Googled my Finn Man and found him (but no link to his email, and the website his name was on was in Estonian so I couldn't even read it!). It took me two weeks to find a link to someone else, who forwarded my email to him (we were both single at the time thankfully!!!!). The email went to his spam folder but he happened to check it that day and responded back to me immediately! This was after 10 years of no contact and almost 21 years of not seeing each other after we first met.

11/08-5/09: We traveled back and forth to visit each other. Love at first (second?) sight!

7/09: Married in Helsinki, Finland...after meeting randomly 21 1/2 years ago and finding each other again!!!!!

8/13/09: I-130 sent!!!!!!!!!

Rest is on my timeline!

I've gone to see the people at the consulate on Tuesdays and Wednesdays several times with not much luck each time. The best results for us was to just let my wife show up on the interview day and let things run it's course. This is just my experience. it's probably be different for someone else.

At least it is an option for that that got a second blue to go in to say hey wassup.. what can I do you help you guys reach the right decision...

My thought is for you to go on the Tues or Wed with the docs (bring copies) and talk to the CO prior to turning in. Kind of following the theory of front loading for when Phung brings in the documents. Who knows, maybe they will accept the docs from you then after you get to have a conversation.

Answers in order :)

1 No fees that I know of

2 She just brings them in as instructed on the blue slip

3 I'd have her bring them, especially if you got to talk with a CO on a prior day.

4 Linh had no problem, the CO looked them over and gave her the pink paper

5 Turn in the requested information and anything else that you want them to have. From what others have said, if it's a lot the CO won't sit there and read through. You would get a blue so that they can review the new info.

6 The CO will tell you the next step. If it's in AR, no need to sit outside and wait.

7 Have her bring your passport inside and show it to the CO and tell him that you are outside if the CO would like to speak with you as well.

Good idea

This would allow them an opportunity to possibly look over the info prior to the second appt and possibly allow for a pink to be waiting at that appt. as well as if they could get feedback as to if there was anything else needed before the appt. it could give an extra opportunity to get that together... It all depends upon the CO that is there on Tues Wed..

Thanks Anh Map, i guess ur the only one who follow my request. heheheh NO OFFENSE to anyone. :) I still appreciate everyone.

I don't know if my wife actually have a date to turn in the documents. I called my U.S rep. and they ask about the date that they handwritten on my wife's 1st Blueslip. It's on a Saturday so my Rep. actually told me to bring it on the date that first assign. I guess I will go see them on Tuesday the 1st of September with the documents then on the 2nd is a Holiday so the 4th is our original appointment date and my wife will show up to give them the documents that they requested along with my passport.

This is our plan, what do you think?

Thanks so much for all ur help.

I'm just playin' as the idea of bribing U.S officers being brought up on one of the thread.

Just to be on the safe side, turn in the additional requested information and all of the original evidence that she brought to the initial interview. I heard of someone else getting a second blue, requesting old evidence again. I'm glad you know not to bribe a CO. Anywhere else in Vietnam, money talks, but probably not at the U.S. embassy. I heard of other couples getting a pink immediately after submitting additional evidence, so I hope that will be the case for you guys. You guys are a cute couple and look very happy together, so there is no reason to doubt you will get the pink. Good luck!

AWWWW that is so nice to say. Thank you so much. This probably the most warming thing I've heard since the time we got the Blueslip. heheheh Thanks so much

My wife brought all the evidence but they only look at a couple of pictures on my first trip and took my first timeline. Now they ask for new timeline and evidence. We are doing the timeline again and organize all evidence to turn in.
