  1. 1. Should Healthcare be a Right?

    • Yes, the Constitution clearly empowers the US Government to provide for the General Welfare of the American people.

    • No, healthcare requires someone's labor to be produced, and you cannot have a right to other's labor; that's slavery.

    • I don't care, either way.

Evidence of surgery has been found on Neanderthal remains before. What do you think he paid with, a shell necklace? If primitive tribal peoples and even the neanderthals took care of their own then why can't we?

Obviously he didn't pay with his Chase Sapphire Card--but just because Neanderthal people didn't have bank accounts doesn't mean they didn't pay for things. Primitive people practiced direct exchange up until common mediums were accepted (i.e. money).

Socialism and Communism are new social concepts and were not practiced pre-19th century. It took years of ignorance and naivete to enable such concepts to be considered.

Health care is not a right. Neither is education. Neither is housing. Neither is having a telephone or a tv or radio. Neither is transportation.

Should we insure that everyone has access to health care? I think so. Is the public option the way to do it? I don't think so.

Actually, when I was in second grade I conceived of a communistic style way of providing. I remember discussing it with my older brother. He was in grade 5 at the time. I remember him just scoffing at me. It took me years to realize why.

My point is that it was probably considered much before the 19th century by 7 year olds around the world.

Frankly, i think our healthcare system would be better off if it were run by the Mob. At least then you could get the price upfront, negotiate if you had to, and then pay in cash...

And free burial services if you can't pay...
