I am starting the K-1 Visa process, and my fiance just sent her signed G-325A from Brazil to me. I just read on the homepage that ...

"VisaJourney would like to remind all petitioners that are required to file a USCIS G-325A Biographic Information Form to submit four copies of the Biographical Information page (page one on the newest form). In the past the G-325A form contained four pages that automatically printed out (with the same information on all pages). The new form only has one page however petitioners should still submit four copies of the Biographic Information page with their petition."

My fiance only signed and sent me 1 copy. Should I make copies of this form? Do I really need to send 4 of this form?

Thanks,

Drew

My fiance and I are gathering all of our forms as well. From my reading of the K1 Visa Guide, you should make a copy of the (one page) form and have your fiance sign all four copies. At least that is what we have done. Hope that helps you out some. Try reading that Visa Gude though. It help clear up a lot of things I had questions on.

I suggest you sign all the copies. Why would you not do this? Fill out the forms completely.

The reason I wouldn't sign 4 copies is that my fiance in Brazil sent me only 1 signed copy of the G-325A. We don't feel like waiting another 7-10 days for her to mail 3 more copies.

Thanks everyone for the advice.

FedEx, UPS, DHL next day air. Money well spent.

Reminder: Submit Four Copies of Biometric Page on USCIS G-325A Form

August 22nd, 2009

VisaJourney would like to remind all petitioners that are required to file a USCIS G-325A Biographic Information Form to submit four copies of the Biographical Information page (page one on the newest form). In the past the G-325A form contained four pages that automatically printed out (with the same information on all pages). The new form only has one page. VisaJourney will be following up with USCIS to determine if using the new form (as released) and only submitting one copy of the Biographic Information page (as the new form prints) is the method the USCIS intended or if it was a mistake on the form. Until then it is recommend that petitioners submit four copies of the Biographic Information page with their petition. We will provide USCIS’s response to this question here once we get clarification from them.

Given potential liabilities, erring on the side of caution is a good idea. However, in real life the G325a form is a carbonless quadruplicate, so only one signature is an original and the other "copies" are, well, copies.

They've been asked. The date fields for parents' birthdates have a font problem. You can do mm/dd/yy instead or write in the dates. They know which century any living parent of a G325a applicant was born.

I am waiting on a response from the USCIS beyond the 1-800 number as in the past they have been known to give different answers to different people. It may indeed result in the same answer, however I would prefer to get the response in a more formal (and documented) communication before we post anything in the news section.

My fiance printed the new form for me and as far as I know it still had 4 copies. When he told me our old one had expired he appropriately stated that the new one was "formatted by a chimpanzee" because of the tiny tiny spaces. I literally had to sit down and fill out all 4 sheets by hand in the tiniest print I could manage while still being legible (I hope) with most of the addresses because they just did not fit.

This would only work with an adjudicator who is incompetent. I'd get a new signed one in the mail so it's ready when the RFE comes.

I've heard this blue ink/black ink discussion going on here, but I remember seeing specific USCIS directions that reflected to use only black ink! I have the sheet at work, so I don't even remember where I got it off the top of my head.

Black ink is always preferred. Blue ink does not always photocopy/scan properly.

Have to agree. Anytime I have had dealings with the government I was told to use black ink as it was more legible and especially when any copying had to be done.
