date format for K-1 visa interview

hi, my name is dave. i am a K-1 applicant

my question is, i have been informed that in the interview, i have to give dates in the american format. is this correct? do i really have to stand there and work it all out in my head before speaking? only because i have also been told that pausing and floundering around is a bad thing to do. im afraid im not the smartest sandwich in the lunchbox so any advice on this would be most welcome.

The same calendar is used in both countries. What is your worry? You can say April 1st or 1 April. The CO will certainly understand.

You do want to fill in the documents according to the instructions. That would be mm/dd/year.

thanks for the fast replies. im sure they aint looking for mensa candidates, il use the american format for forms but im sure they will understand if i give "25th of april 2009" in my interview
