How long did it take everyone to get their interview in Vancouver after sending packet 3?

Also, can you email them before getting packet 4 in the mail so you can find out sooner. I would like to find out sooner for work reasons.

A little over 2 months for us! But this is a better question for those going through Vancouver, things move a lot faster through there.

You can e-mail the consulate or call DOS to receive your interview date. I found calling DOS a lot faster and easier. The number is 202-663-1225, but make sure you have your VAN case number handy!

Once you send back your packed 3 by fax, you can email VAN to find out your interview date, but the better and most convenient way is to call DOS. Most of the time within 2-3 days after faxing back your packet 3 your interview date is assigned, if you have any special requests for certain days of the week they will accomodate those as well. I called DOS 2 days after faxing back packet 3. It took almost 2 weeks to get my packet 4 letter, and I had booked my airfare (at a seat sale) a few days after calling DOS.

Oh and congrats on your NOA2!! Won't be long now!!

Sorry but what is DOS again?

Department of State, Visa Inquiry, basically they can track whether the Consulate has sent out Packet 3, or received a completed packet 3 from you, also can track whether an interview date has been assigned, or if the interview letter has been sent out.

I requested a date about 3 weeks since I faxed them the checklist. They gave me the request. So you can try to give them a date or a range of dates when you would like the interview. I suggest having the medical done on a Wednesday, pick up the results that day at 2pm and have the interview a day later.

The Lord is my strength and my shield,

My heart trusted in Him and I am helped,

therefore my heart greatly rejoices,

and with my song I will praise Him.

From the time I faxed back my packet 3 (which I did on a Friday), it took seven days to receive a reply, which I received last friday, so that's fairly current info! lol

I asked for an interview on August 31st, or the next available thereafter and I was assigned an interview date on September 1st. So, in my case, that's a turn-around time of 18 days from the time I received my P3 to the actual interview. Of course, I don't know what would have happened if I had asked for an earlier appointment!

Good luck on your interview when it comes around!

We got ours the day after my husband faxed back packet 3. We emailed the consulate and asked them to email us our interview date as soon as they scheduled it and they did.

Your timeline makes me hopeful that Bryan will have his visa soon!

Can I ask you how you requested that interview date? Was it in writing when you faxed back your packet 3?

You request it by writing it down on the bottom of the faxed checklist. It asks you there if there is an interview date that you would prefer so you write it down.

The Lord is my strength and my shield,

Thanks! I hadn't really put a whole lot of time into researching for the second half. I sent him all the links, now I have to just trust that Bryan will be able to figure out all the forms for himself ;)

Just a side question here since you all were talking about Vancouver. My fiance lives near Calgary. Do you know if she would have to go to Vancouver or Montreal for her K1 interview? Do the different offices have certain areas they cover? Does anyone know? Thanks. :)
