So I passed Blue Water Bridge for my POE

August 20th ( technically 21st ) 2009.

Arrived on the bridged at just before midnight, waited in line to get to customs. We were told to go to secondary investigation as per usual to get our stuff done up. We go in and wait for a bit theres only a few people in there but aparently no one wanted to process a visa! After a while a guy says to come over to the counter, he pulls up instructions how to do the k1 visa on his computer after i put everything on the desk. ( i could see his monitor in the mirror behind him haha ) so he starts going over things and scans my passport asked me if my fiance was still in the military and i said yes, then said so your getting married? and i said yes we are quite soon. He looked at my compliance letter and i told him it was for my car and he handed it to another officer who put all that stuff into the computer for him really quickly and got me to sign 3 copys ( 3pages each of signing ) then gave me 2 copys and kept one copy for them. Car was done! It took a while for them to search in the computer as they couldnt find the service center for lincoln NE. After a while one of the CBP guys said to just put it as omaha and to blame him if something goes wrong. they scanned my passport and my moms passport. he stappled a paper to my passport and stamped both of our passports and said 6$ so i payed 6$ and he said your all done! you can leave now.

during this process one CBP guy was talking about lawns and how green lawns are so amazing and how people keep them so green. he kept talking to everyone about it! it was quite funny, he came over to where we were standing and asked where i was headed and i said Nebraska

and he said oh well you dont count you get dirt lawns! we joked about lawns but he seemd really stuck on the topic lol.

a guy came in behind us and had some how been working in the US and living in the US for 6 months at a hospital without a TN visa without ANY kind of visa without a driver license and without a wallet and without a passport!!! i was standing there listening thinking wholy god how did he get away with that for so long..

POE was really quick. they never looked in the truck, never asked about my dog or anything in the truck. my mom never filled out one of the blue visitor papers or signed anything they never asked her how long she was staying or proof she was returning, never took finger prints! was very surprised. but really happy i made it past without any snags.

aprox another 7 hours to omaha. staying the nite in a hotel after drivin 12 hours today, most of it spent stuck in a giant trafic jam on the i-80W due to a HORRID crash. doggy is doing good, never confiscated his food or anything so im glad i brought some for him cus we havent really seen any pet stores on the way! :star:

cant wait to get to NE, fiance is having a bachelor party tonite lol he will be hung over for unpacking the truck tomorrow. this should be comical.

Glad you had an easy POE! Welcome to America!

“...Isn't it splendid to think of all the things there are to find out about? It just makes me feel glad to be alive--it's such an interesting world. It wouldn't be half so interesting if we knew all about everything, would it? There'd be no scope for imagination then, would there?”
