Just curious...not trying to stir the pot...but just what is the purpose of a beauty contest? Just something I've always wondered...

Are you serious?

Women are by nature beautiful.

People are always interested to see "best" of anything be it a Monster-truck or a Blue ribbon rose.

Ad to this a "national element" and you have a duel interest story going on.

 um...no, I wasn't kidding. Imagine that! Why does that surprise you?

Women are beautiful by nature I do agree...but outward beauty fades pretty darn quick dude...it's the inward beauty that will last for ages. That's why I wondered what is the purpose of beauty contests.

Yah, I know people always want to see "the best" of whatever is on the ####### tube...that's human nature.

National element...don't you mean international element?

It's ran by a secret society that loves to generate inferiority complexes to the thousands of women that applied, only one wins, all the rest feel inferior.

 That's what I thought. But generating an inferiority complex is what many humans do best and enjoy seeing.

Just sayin'.

All very beautiful women, of course - especially Misses Bolivia, Hungary, Japan, Kosovo, Mauritius, Netherlands, Spain, Venezuela.

I don't like how all of the pictures look like Maxim covers though. I thought Miss Universe was different, more pageanty.

Peace to All creatures great and small............................................

But when we turn to the Hebrew literature, we do not find such jokes about the donkey. Rather the animal is known for its strength and its loyalty to its master (Genesis 49:14; Numbers 22:30).

Clearly the feminist germ has poisoned the waters of your mind :D

Seriously, do you hear men crying about all the great sculptures are of muscular men and not reflective of

"real men"?

Sure we all age and most loose the fitness and beauty of their youth but that is no reason not to celebrate

Beauty when it is abloom.

Am I the only one digging the blondes. I'd like to see Miss Ukraine win.

Miss Canada looks like she's representing the USA in her red/white/blue outfit.

The Miss America pageant has always been the classiest because it is a "scholarship" pageant.

The Miss USA which feeds into Miss Universe has been sort of a sexier pageant. And it's sponsored by Donald Trump if that gives you an indication.

I like that several of these contestants are 26 and 27- not just all 19 and 20! :)

Good point. Mexico is a close second followed by Argentina.

Whats up with Miss Honduras, she looks like one mean woman that could bust out a ninja move on a moments notice.
