I checked my email today and my application was finally touched after 2 months. But unfortunately they want more evidence. I sent a bunch the first time, what more could they want. I was looking forward to getting the NOA2, but now this. Not a good day. This happening to anyone else?? It is very frustrating.

Unfortunate and disappointing, but not the end of the world.

You won't know exactly what they're looking for until the hard copy of the Request for Evidence (RFE) arrives, but you can start preparing. Hopefully you kept a photocopy of the entire package you sent as part of the I-129F initial submission. If so, get it out and check it against the VisaJourney K-1 guide. Look for missing signatures, any blanks you or your fiance may have missed on any of the forms, etc. This can help you to anticipate the RFE and start gathering possible additional evidence, so that you can respond to the RFE as quickly as possible after the hard copy arrives.

On the positive side, this lets you know that they're working your case—when your additional evidence arrives at CSC they'll start processing you again, and as long as you've provided what they needed, NOA2 will follow soon thereafter!

Improved USCIS Form G-325A (Biographic Information)

Form field input font changed to allow entry of dates in the specified format and to provide more space for addresses and employment history. This is the 6/12/09 version of the form; the current version is 8/8/11, but previous versions are accepted per the USCIS forms page.

My friend, do not despair. This happened to me too. I included a whole bunch of evidence when I filed my I-130 only to have them send back an RFE wanting more evidence. I put an INCREDIBLE package together. I'm including some pictures so you can see. I sent them;

Copy of our mariage licence (again)

Copy of my son's birth certificate (again)

Copy of my pasport showing my monthly visits to my wifes country

Affidavits for Bonafide Mariage (again)

Copy of receipt for engagement ring

copy of receipt for honeymoon hotel

copy of auto insurance policy

and photos of our wedding and sons birth.

You have to wait to see what the RFE states. Then disect it slowly and put your pakage together.

Good luck.

They're right. Find out what's in the RFE letter first before you panic. I had one because I missed a checkbox in one of the forms. Sent it back the next day and just delayed my approval for a week.

Thanks for the replys. Just the thought of another RFE is frustrating. I had one at the beginning because I had sent them a copy of an original when the wanted the original signiture. I hope it is as easy of a fix as that. But knowing my luck it won't be.

Out of interest, can you let us know what form/letter was it that needed to be an original so that others don't 'make the same mistake?

Because you'll be dealing with a tough consulate, your RFE may be a blessing in disguise. See the U.S. Consulate forum and the post regarding "testimonial letters." You can collect these and include them in your response to the RFE. USCIS may not care, but this could pay off big-time when your package reaches the consulate.

06-04-2007 = TSC stamps postal return-receipt for I-129f.

06-11-2007 = NOA1 date (unknown to me).

07-20-2007 = Phoned Immigration Officer; got WAC#; where's NOA1?

09-25-2007 = Touch (first-ever).

09-28-2007 = NOA1, 23 days after their 45-day promise to send it (grrrr).

10-20 & 11-14-2007 = Phoned ImmOffs; "still pending."

12-11-2007 = 180 days; file is "between workstations, may be early Jan."; touches 12/11 & 12/12.

12-18-2007 = Call; file is with Division 9 ofcr. (bckgrnd check); e-prompt to shake it; touch.

12-19-2007 = NOA2 by e-mail & web, dated 12-18-07 (187 days; 201 per VJ); in mail 12/24/07.

01-09-2008 = File from USCIS to NVC, 1-4-08; NVC creates file, 1/15/08; to consulate 1/16/08.

01-23-2008 = Consulate gets file; outdated Packet 4 mailed to fiancee 1/27/08; rec'd 3/3/08.

04-29-2008 = Fiancee's 4-min. consular interview, 8:30 a.m.; much evidence brought but not allowed to be presented (consul: "More proof! Second interview! Bring your fiance!").

05-05-2008 = Infuriating $12 call to non-English-speaking consulate appointment-setter.

05-06-2008 = Better $12 call to English-speaker; "joint" interview date 6/30/08 (my selection).

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."

07-2008 = Daily calls to DOS: "currently processing"; 8/05 = Phoned consulate, got Section Chief; wrote him.

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).

08-27-08 = Phoned consulate (they "couldn't find" our file); visa DHL'd 8/28; in hand 9/1; through POE on 10/9 with NO hassles(!).
