Does anyone have any idea about what is going on with Atlanta Field office?

My receipt date is May 27 and FP done on June 19 and received Yellow letter week ago. I called the CS almost every alternate day past 6 weeks and their answer is You are on queue.

It seems Atlanta Field Office has come to standstill since early may filers compared to other Field offices that are quite faster in terms of issuing the IL in some cases within 6 weeks of filing.

I appreciate your inputs

hmm. I filed the end of April, was received early May and got my interview date for August 13th. Your receipt date is about 3 weeks after mine so I would have expected your interview date to be about 3 weeks later as well - 1st or 2nd week of September. You should be hearing something very soon. Good luck.

I should add that when I went for my interview the interview room was full and they were calling out applicants' names every 3 or 4 minutes with quite a number of IO apparently working. They are obviously quite busy. I wonder if they got a greater than usual 'influx' of applications in May that has required more processing? Just speculating . . .

“...Isn't it splendid to think of all the things there are to find out about? It just makes me feel glad to be alive--it's such an interesting world. It wouldn't be half so interesting if we knew all about everything, would it? There'd be no scope for imagination then, would there?”

I guess you may be right. They might have lot of people filed in May. But surpringly, Atlanta Processing times are ahead of most of the other field offices processing times as of June 30.

We never felt a rush for the N-400, finally got the ten year card in, that was a stress, and wife's foreign passport renewed for another five year, that was another stress. But felt stress between the interview and oath ceremony, felt like we were again tied to the mailbox, then more stress in getting her US passport, her foreign passport was now worthless. And when my wife got her interview notice, there was stress on her to study for the civic test and stress on me to recheck the N-400 and make sure we had all the evidence required then some.

Now you have a period of relaxation, enjoy it while you can. But sounds like you are getting stressed out before the real stress time.

Recently I'm reading people getting an e-mail from CRIS that announces their case has been sent for an interview. This must be new.

Well, if the Atlanta DO is really moving, we should receive such an e-mail pretty soon, too - followed by the physical interview letter.

Good luck for all of us and to a speedy/smooth process! :star:
