Hi,

so here is my problem

I had my AOS interview on the 5th of june, I went to an office in Garden city NY for the interview. From what I remember the packet I sent in went to Chicago IL

I need to travel in about a month for my job and i have not yet got my greencard. I looked on the time lines and most seem to get theirs in 2 weeks.

I phoned USCIS and I got some ####### about it taking 11 months some times and my application is still pending approval.

I know I can get a travel permit, but I want to know where my greencard is

any advice would be greatly accepted

I really hope you get your green card soon but to be safe I would look into getting a travel permit. I have heard people on this board say it took 9 months to get their green card in the mail.

Maybe you could make an infopass to see what is delaying your greencard??

Were you told that you were approved at your interview???? I would make an infopass appointment to find out what is going on.... I would not file for AP because if you have been approved then you dont need AP to travel...

If when you go to the infopass appointment they say yes you have been approved and the greencard will be mailed... ask for the I-551 stamp.. explain to them about having to travel for business within the next few weeks...

Maybe you don't yet qualify for a Green Card (aren't yet approved). If you are approved, make an InfoPass appointment and see if you can get your passport stamped with I-551.

If you are not yet a PR, you need Advance Parole still.

It's not #######, btw. It can take til never to get your Green Card---don't put life on hold waiting on something that might never come.

Clarify if you are a Permanent Resident yet or not. That will dictate your next step.
