Is it true that before they approve the visa, they will do immigration check first? I mean, the beneficiary's in and out of the country? Do they check or coordinate with other countries' (especially where the beneficiary been to) immigration? Just curious..thanks.

They will check how often/ when the beneficiary has been to the USA, which is why you need to give the details of that on one of the forms. They don't really care about other countries, unless maybe those are "enemies of the USA" such as North Korea.

Otto,

actually, my real concern is my police certificate from dubai, uae..i requested it in june 2009 (more than 1 year since i left that country) and the validity is only 3 months and i'm sure that it's already expired by the time of my interview. i'm just worried because i don't want to go through the whole process of obtaining police certificate again. now, if they really check the in and out of the country, they will see that i haven't been back there since the certificate was issued..infact never traveled again since january 2008...thanks for reading.

What steps did you take to request a police certificate from Dubai. My fiance stayed in dubai for three years.

I went to the UAE embassy website and to obtain a police certificate, this is what they require QUOTE: "Available, only if applicant is physically present in the UAE.

Police certificates may be obtained by any person, regardless of nationality, by personally appearing at the Central Police Headquarters located in the emirate of residence or former residence. When appearing to request a police certificate, the applicant should provide recent photographs, a letter from the requesting authority, the date of residence in the emirate, and their passport.

Not available by mail. Post recommends that consular officers waive the general requirement to obtain police certificates unless the applicant lives in the UAE.

So, where you present in dubai when you recieved your police certificate? I am just curious because my finace is currently in the philippines.

Hi Farmer,

Does she know someone in Dubai who can apply Police Clearance on her behalf? I had a friend who applied for me when I requested it. Because if she didn't have anyone to do it for her, I think she will have to request online. It will take time and more expensive.

Anyways, please tell her to go to NBI Taft, Manila for fingerprinting with 2x2 photo and a valid I.D. They will ask her to complete the form with complete details (no abbreviations) and take her fingerprints. Then, they will give her claim stub as to when the document can be picked-up. Please take note that she won't have to pay there. The NBI will forward the document to Department of Foreign Affairs for authentication..that's where she will show the claim stub and pay Php 100.00 and again a valid i.d. before they release it. After DFA, she needs to go to any DHL counter (local shipment) to send the authenticated document to UAE Embassy Manila and pay around Php 1,800.00. It will take a week before she receives the attested document (from UAE Embassy) with UAE stamp and arabic signature. Once she have it, it is up to her which shipping company she wants to use (DHL or Fedex) to deliver her documents to Dubai.

REQUIREMENTS:

--authenticated fingerprints (from DFA with red ribbon)

-- 4 pcs passport sized photos

--authorization letter for the person who will apply for her

--photocopy of valid passport --photocopy of her passport with UAE visa and cancellation page

--application form (can be downloaded from dubaipolice.gov.ae) --Dhs 115.00 processing fee

Please tell her to make sure to write (on authorization letter and application form) that the purpose for applying PCC is for USA visa application. What I did was, I sent 2 copies each of those documents. I also downloaded the application form and signed it because I just wanted my friend to submit everything, not do the forms and the typing center is far from the police headquarters. BTW, they won't accept handwritten forms, they will ask the person to typewritten it. And since your fiance is outside Dubai, her application cannot be processed in any Dubai police office. It will be processed in the headquarters which is located in Al Qusais. Mine took 8 days and my friend just sent it to me thru DHL.

I really hope I helped you on this. If you have any more questions, just send me PM and I will try my best to assist her. Goodluck to both of you.

Hi Beth, Thanks for the reply but I am little confused. Let me make sure I understand, once she recieves the documents from DFA, she will then send the documents to the UAE embassy Manila. After about one week she will recieve the attested documents from UAE Embassy Manila (right)? Do she need to sign for them in person or will the UAE embassy Manila send the attested documents via mail? and once she recieves the documents she will then send them to Duba for processing (right)? How long will it take to get the documents back from Dubai? NOW my fiance do have an Auntie who is residing in Dubia, can she assist her with applying for the certificate and if so, what do my finance need to do?

thank you.

Yeah. I don't get this. I have a similar situation. If a person has a PCC for up until the time he or she left the country and has never been back to the country, why should that PCC expire? Why would they need a PCC for years they have never set foot in the country? If you hadn't committed any crimes before you left, you can't have committed them since you have left. It doesn't make any sense to me. But I guess we have to jump through all the hoops, the logical ones and the illogical ones.

Good luck. It sounds like you have some good advice.

You're welcome. If she lives in Davao City, I honestly don't have an idea how she can apply for PCC. I would suggest to call NBI office in Davao and ask her to inquire about the process. I'm sure they will assist her without asking her to fly to Manila just for fingerprinting. Sorry if you're confused, I thought I'd explained very well, hehehe..After DFA, she will send it to UAE Embassy. DHL will take care of everything, you just have to pay (just once) when you're giving them your document, and they are the one to deliver (again) your attested document from UAE Embassy. She will sign a form with her details when she give them (DHL) her docs. After that, she can send it (with other requirements) to her Aunt in Dubai and ask her to forward her papers to Headquarters which is located in Al Qusais. My PCC was released after 8 days from the day it was submitted. The whole process depends on how quick her Aunt can submit her documents. I guess she already know the working schedule/days there.

Is there something in particular you're concerned about?

Otto,

actually, my real concern is my police certificate from dubai, uae..i requested it in june 2009 (more than 1 year since i left that country) and the validity is only 3 months and i'm sure that it's already expired by the time of my interview. i'm just worried because i don't want to go through the whole process of obtaining police certificate again. now, if they really check the in and out of the country, they will see that i haven't been back there since the certificate was issued..infact never traveled again since january 2008...thanks for reading.
