Hello everyone! I hope I'm in the right forum. Anyway, I was just wondering if they do credit check (petitioner and beneficiary) before they approve any petition. Do USCIS, NVC, and beneficiary's consulate have connection with the banks or credit lending companies? Can the bad credit status be a reason for someone's petition's denial? Thanks peeps!

Your credit rating has nothing to do with the process. It would however be in your interests to spend some time cleaning it up. Heck you might even make some money out of it by suing people who are incorrectly reporting and do not alter it when told

no, for as long as petitioner meets the above poverty requirement or provide a person (besides himself) as co-sponsor for the affidavit of support (I-134)

and also no for fiance/beneficiary since we don't have such a thing as credit score/credit reporting in the philippines. it's mostly the petitioner who needs to prove ability to financially take care of his fiancee when she arrives n in the US, making sure she will not be a public charge as the I-134 form says.
