Confused about DS230, I601 &I212

After NVC prompts you to pay the IV bill and you print out the document cover sheet...is that when you send in the DS230? On the "Applicant Document Processing" link on immigrantvisas.state.gov it says that "for certain U.S. Embassies the NVC provides document collection" and that it collects it "for immigrant visa cases assigned to an Appointment Post"...I don't know what that means, we haven't heard any specific details from NVC about starting the DS230 besides that the coversheet says to send in the documents...but everything else says to wait until we hear directly from them to send everything in so that we don't delay the process. Err,

I'm also confused because on the DS230 Part II it asks if you have ever been deported or removed. My husband was in the US and ordered for removal, which we left on our own dime, so I know that we have to fill out a "yes" to that question and submit an I601 & I212 (all the lawyers we have talked to about the case have confirmed that this is necessary)...but I don't know when we send these two documents in and I don't want to mess up because they are so expensive ($500 each :help: ) Do they get sent to the NVC with the DS230 (I hate to send that document alone with it checked for removal - would they unaprove us because of that without the other two documents right there)...or should I send the DS230 and then wait to see if they give us an interview and then bring the I601 &I212 with supporting documents to the interview?? Or should my husband just go to the interview and wait for them to tell us when and where to file the I601 and I212. This is so confusing and frustrating :crying:

Yes, we printed off the IV sheet once the payment was accepted and sent in the DS-230.

Yes, if your husband was ordered removed then answer yes to that question regardless if you left 'on your own dime'

The I-601 and the I-212 is submitted after the interview, I assume you are expecting a denial. Once the petition has been denied, you will then submit the I-601 and the I-212. Some consulates allow you to submit it at the interview to bring it to the interview.

Good luck.
