I also posted on US Embassy / Consulate Section.

Hey VJ'ers,

My wife was approved for Immigrant Visa last Thursday. I called the Embassy yesterday and and they said everything is fine and that are sending to VFS. I called VFS today and they did not received it. I called Embassy and was very upset and the operator knew it. They connected me to a Supervisor and I told him why have they not sent the passport to VFS. He entered the info in his computer and said everything is fine and that it was send today. I called VFS again and they said they do not have, it is still with Embassy.

WHAT THE HELL IS GOING ON? HAS ANYONE ELSE BEEN THROUGH THIS!? My wife was approved last week and still VFS is saying they do not have it. I e-mailed Embassy 3 times and have not heard back once. =(

All the Embassy guy kept saying was "Be Patient". I would be if someone knew where the hell her passport is!

The Embassy guy is right...be patient. The Embassy in New Delhi took about 3 weeks to send back a friend of mines passport. Just call VFS everyday to check...but above all remain patient and don't tick the Embassy off by screaming at them because they can, if they chose, cause you more problems and change their minds about issuing the visa. Don't doubt it. I've heard this happening before after someone was told that they were approved.

Just stay calm...you're almost through it. Then you can celebrate for the rest of your life. :)

Take care.

Hi hkgauer,

I am totally cool for being patient. Had the Embassy simply said, yes there is a backlog we will be sending the Passport out this particular day I would be fine.

But they said Passport has been sent to VFS and to check in today/tomorrow. I did that and VFS said we have not received it and it is still at Embassy. If it was not sent, then why tell me that?

I know these things take time. I am just sad that they said it was sent, and VFS is telling me that it is not.

My wife was approved last week and still VFS is saying they do not have it. I e-mailed Embassy 3 times and have not heard back once. =(
