Hey VJ'ers,

My wife was approved for Immigrant Visa last Thursday. I called the Embassy yesterday and and they said everything is fine and that are sending to VFS. I called VFS today and they did not received it. I called Embassy and was very upset and the operator knew it. They connected me to a Supervisor and I told him why have they not sent the passport to VFS. He entered the info in his computer and said everything is fine and that it was send today. I called VFS again and they said they do not have, it is still with Embassy.

WHAT THE HELL IS GOING ON? HAS ANYONE ELSE BEEN THROUGH THIS!? My wife was approved last week and still VFS is saying they do not have it. I e-mailed Embassy 3 times and have not heard back once. =(

All the Embassy guy kept saying was "Be Patient". I would be if someone knew where the hell her passport is!

I waited over week. If the Embassy just said they were backlogged, I would be ok. They said they sent it to VFS and VFS is saying Embassy still has it.

Wait a few days before getting riled up. Hounding the staff doesn't do anyone any good.

The Embassy guy is right...be patient. The Embassy in New Delhi took about 3 weeks to send back a friend of mines passport. Just call VFS everyday to check...but above all remain patient and don't tick the Embassy off by screaming at them because they can, if they chose, cause you more problems and change their minds about issuing the visa. Don't doubt it. I've heard this happening before after someone was told that they were approved.

Just stay calm...you're almost through it. Then you can celebrate for the rest of your life. :)

Take Care and know that everything's going to be OK!

Our time line for CR1 visa took only 5 months and 1 week or 156 days; from the filing the I-130 on the 03-12-2009 to Approval of NOA2 on the 05/13/2009, then Interview on the 08/18/2009 at Manila, Philippines. We had a daughter on the 11-12-2010 named AISHA JOY means HAPPY LIFE.a1_opt-1.jpga2_opt-1.jpga3_opt-1.jpg
