If You Could Choose to Live in Any State, Which Would You Choose???

So, as a Canadian, you pretty much ended up the the State that your SO lived in (assuming you haven't moved).

If you had your pick, what State would you choose and what city?

I'll be the first to say, Delaware would not have been my first choice lol...I kinda wish he was from somewhere cooler HAHA!

The one thing I love about here is that the shore is an hour away, AC about the same and NYC 2.5 hours...and we do frequent those places a lot. But if I had a choice...I would love to live in Clearwater Fla.... I am such a waterbaby and the water in the Gulf is amazing.

Other choices would likely be the West Coast, LA (more for work)...I love NYC, but I don't think I could ever live in such a big City full time...even though I come from Toronto, as much as I loved the city, I always lived in suburbs....

Where would you live?

I'm a bit against the grain, because in all honesty, I'm lucky enough to be ending up in the state I'd probably choose! California! There are some others I'd probably put in my top 5 as well, but this one would definitely make it near the top regardless, so I'm happy :D

Probably a state that has a lot of fresh air and decent weather like Colorado. I'd also live in New England, more spec. Vermont.

"...My hair's mostly wind,

My eyes filled with grit

My skin's white then brown

My lips chapped and split

I've lain on the prairie and heard grasses sigh

I've stared at the vast open bowl of the sky

I've seen all the castles and faces in clouds

My home is the prairie and for that I am proud…

If You're not from the Prairie, you can't know my soul

You don't know our blizzards; you've not fought our cold

You can't know my mind, nor ever my heart

Unless deep within you there's somehow a part…

A part of these things that I've said that I know,

The wind, sky and earth, the storms and the snow.

Best say that you have - and then we'll be one,

For we will have shared that same blazing sun." - David Bouchard

I haven't been to all the States so I have no idea where I'd like to live! I know what kind of weather I'd like, and that's not very hot weather, so that narrows it down a bit! After Gene retires, we are going to be leaving St. Louis, that we do know. We're thinking like the UP, or Wisconsin or Minnesota during the summer, and probably Florida during the winters. The best of both worlds!

I'm with Treble - need somewhere with Fresh air and maybe a little more winter. New Hampshire, Vermont or upstate New York.

Certainly not Virginia, hate the weather here

I was sort of lucky with a choice I guess comming here originally on a TN status. When I was accepted I had the choice pretty much of Wisconsin (blah), North Carolina (I knew people near there), Indiana (knew people there and used to party there all the time) or Colorado (I knew no one and it was the furthest west).

Now normally everyone had expected me to chose North Carolina, but I had always wanted to live in the west and am very much Southwestern in my living preferences.

States I want to live (and may when the economy picks up)

1) Southern California (know people there, go there all the time, know LA better then any other city in the world)

2) Hawaii (lived there as a teenager for a bit and loved it).

3) Arizona (Phoenix), (know people there and love the desert)

4) Nevada (Las Vegas) - (know people there and close to LA and Phoenix)

The only eastern place I'd consider is Florida (have friends there too and they have tons of tornadoes for me).

Pretty much I hate snow and can't stand temps being under 75 degrees (65 in the winter)...

I'm just a wanderer in the desert winds...
