Steve, I dont think I have ever seen anyone so desperate as you. Puttin bandaids all over the fool you helped vote in as pres. Have some cake.

Wait, to wait BS? What else did he say? I'm confused...

We know!

In the parallel world liberals dwell in, all things wrong in the world begin with Fox News, Rush Limbaugh, and anyone who doesn't think as they do. Facts are inconsequential.

So, I suppose you are in the health field?

She doesn't even carry health insurance.

Buy her some. after all you care so much for the ones that dont! Right?

You and I are already paying for the uninsured, unless you yourself are also insured. Some of you Right Wingers are just too thick to figure that out.

Joseph, it is the Right that is fundamentally against government programs like Social Security and Medicare. Their answer - leave it up to the private sector to take care of the handicapped in this country who cannot care for themselves, but on the other side of their argument, they're saying SS and Medicare are unsustainable. In other words, the Right has no answer - except that it's not their problem. But feel free to tell me about a viable solution to help those cannot help themselves without using SS or Medicare.

IF this is so true, do you misrepresent sound bites (like this), why not post real clips of Rush calling for an end to SSI for little old ladies?

By the way, in his conversation with this caller he made a lot of sense about "Why the guys bill was so high and what to do about it."

When I tell my doc, doc dis hurts when I do dis, he says, don't do dat.

But it must be hell to be an orthopedic surgeon sitting around doing nuttin waiting for somebody to break something, if nobody breaks anything, the guy won't even have a job!

Our clinic with an adjoining hospital hires more than 5,000 people with all that fancy electronic stuff that costs a small fortune, if nobody got sick or broke something, that place would fold up making our town a ghost town. But even when you go in there, have all kinds of free pamphlets telling you about wearing proper safety equipment, what you should eat, what you shouldn't do, etc., to reduce your health affecting risks. It's almost like they don't want your business.

What would all the auto body shops do in town if people drove sanely? They would also go out of business. Feel there is a conspiracy in town between the major employers, only give 30 minutes for the lunch hour generating all these fast food places only a block or two away from the clinic. And the same with pharmacies, Walgreens is tearing down a brand new building that was eight blocks away, purchased a tiny piece of land for over a million bucks to be on the main road to the clinic. Then all those hotels.

Russ makes a decent living by twisting the facts and telling people stuff he thinks people would like to hear, but would be out of a job if his followers were intelligent.

Its funny how much liberals "care" and want healthcare for all. Ok, why don't they band together and volunteer to pay for it? No, they want to force everyone else into trillions and trillions of more debt. It isn't about prosperity for all, its that they are miserable and want misery spread equally.

Danno, the Right have long wanted to 'privatize' Social Security, which essentially means getting the government out of it all together. That's no secret. Same with Medicare. Do a little research and look who were fundamentally opposed to both programs when they were first proposed. Reagan was staunchly against Medicare. FDR was called a Socialist for proposing Social Security. You'd have to be living in a cave not to know where the Right stands on those two programs. That said, true Conservatives do not oppose those programs now, given that they are now established (traditional). But ideologically, most on the Right are fundamentally against any government social programs, including public education, which makes it pathetic that political hacks on the Right have been trying to scare grandma that Obama wants to take away her Medicare and SS.

The insured already pay for the insured in this country for one. Second, our current system is currently costing us trillions and trillions because it's taking a big chunk out of our GDP.

Facts are funny things...

Current estimates put U.S. health care spending at approximately 15.3% of GDP, second only to East Timor (Timor-Leste) among all United Nations member nations.[2] The health share of GDP is expected to continue its historical upward trend, reaching 19.5 percent of GDP by 2017.[22][23] Of each dollar spent on health care in the United States 31% goes to hospital care, 21% goes to physician services, 10% to pharmaceuticals, 8% to nursing homes, 7% to administrative costs, and 23% to all other categories (diagnostic laboratory services, pharmacies, medical device manufacturers, etc.[8] Reports on the percentage of costs that go to profits varies from 25-30%.

The Office of the Actuary (OACT) of the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services publishes data on total health care spending in the United States, including both historical levels and future projections.[24] In 2007, the U.S. spent $2.26 trillion on health care, or $7,439 per person, up from $2.1 trillion, or $7,026 per capita, the previous year.[25] Spending in 2006 represented 16% of GDP, an increase of 6.7% over 2004 spending. Growth in spending is projected to average 6.7% annually over the period 2007 through 2017. Health insurance costs are rising faster than wages or inflation, and medical causes were cited by about half of bankruptcy filers in the United States in 2001.[26]
