Rush's silly words vs what some guy on the internet says will happen. Yeah... uh huh.

Limbaugh's answer to the caller expresses a prevailing opinion among many on the Right - which has been echoed here many times - your medical misfortunes are of no concern to them. If your child has Muscular Dystrophy, it's your problem...not theirs.

Well, that's true as far as it goes. The question is though, what kind of societal structure does one want? One where the misfortunate are uncertain if or whether they will be given charity to ease their situation, or whether collectively we agree to be bound to each other in such a way as to allow the government to ensure the misfortunate are always given charity. That's really the nub of the question. Of course, the misfortunate will always be lumped together with the ne'er do wells and the spendthrifts and the latter are prominant in the minds of those who refuse the second course.

Refusing to use the spellchick!
