Please he/she was just venting, nobody was rushing off to put a bomb on a plane and probably never would so theres no need to take this high road.

This happens every time at VJ when a unbelievable story such as this is posted. One person will be venting and then like clock work all the high roaders come out and you know who you are people.

Sometimes comments like that are to be expected. High road or not- condoning that kind of action says a lot about what we actually are willing to do in real life. Maybe that's why the expression exists... as something derogatory from those not willing to take it.

Very bad decision IMO... the guy should have spent his remaining days in prison. I could see a compassionate release for non-violent felons, but murderers shouldn't have the option.

Also somebody called the teenagers animals and got this same high road sort of critiquing.

I vaguely remember your comment & the story... the teens were animals IMO. The guy responsible for the Lockerbie incident is an animal too as far as I'm concerned.

I believe the guy qualified for compassionate release, but I don't think he should have been granted it. I don't think it is fair for one person, or even 99% of the people harmed by a prisoner to grant compassion over the wishes of that one percent who will be further emotionally beaten by such a move.

And I don't think anyone here should be patting themselves on the back for being so compassionate toward someone who has not personally harmed them. That's pretty easy to do. It takes pretty big hutspa to consider those directly affected petty for not being so forgiving.

Welcome to VJ. It goes in all kinds of directions. One day its you getting all kind of grief over venting sadistic things. Another day its someone else getting told for being on some weird tangent from the topic being discussed.
