AOS approved and card in less than 2 weeks

hi all. been gone for a while but just want to give an update. after 6 months and so many days

i got my permanent resident card. the interview was on the 29th of june and i got the card

yesterday, yes it is complete without any wrong information ( sometimes they do get it right )

the interview was quick and fast. our appointment was at 1 pm, can't actuallly recall what time

they called us, i was busy reading david baldacci's split second novel and my husband was busy

with his suspense book too as well. but the night before, it was la vida loca. we had decided on taking

a tiny suitcase full of the usual stuff ( he didn't like it but remember i'm the wife :lol: ). but aside

from that i had a thick scrap book of letters, postcards ,whatnots,poems he made for me since we started

dating back 1997 plus 2 big albums of pictures. the latter we decided at the last minute not to bring with

us, boy were we rolling with laughter in the parking lot.

anyway, i think the reason we were quick was we had all the papers copied so the gentleman who

did the interview didn't have to leave. 2 questions that he asked was a)is your lawyer coming? No.

B) oh so you had a las vegas wedding, did anybody in your family come to the wedding ? I said

yes and my husband told him too that his parents were there too. Then he said, so what have you got

for me - my husband gave him tax return, lease agreement, car insurance , bank statement, health

insurance. and he said , well looks like everything is in order, i'm going to approve your papers and you'll

get your card in 10 to 14 days. my husband and i looked at each other and laughed - he made a joke

to the officer about the "other stuff" that I read about which everybody brings. He said the things

that we gave him is the main menu and the other stuff ( he knows all about it ) is just dessert. He asked

me if i had a job already but i said i was just interviewed by the university hospital so he decided not

to take my ead but told me to destroy it once i get my card.

So, my advice is xerox your passport, drivers license, ead, ssn in one page ( yours and the other half)

and put together the essentials in one folder and you're good to go.

Congrats! Great news*** Just had my interview too last thursday and seems their working on it fast. my case was updated twice and now it says, my card is being ordered and will mail once it is ready. :dance: 10 yrs. GC is on the way. ( don't make no error plz!(lol) )
