I paid 455$ initially. And I thought we paid the processing fee to the consulate not NVC?

Others are giving what appears to be wrong information for you since you appear to be K-1 and not CR1/IR1.

You will pay $131 to the consulate for the K-1 visa fee.

Exactly - payable in Euros (90-something Euros).

by the way - your Consulate will be Frankfurt, not Hamburg (as indicated in your profile), I presume you are aware of this...

Actually I found that out like last week that Hamburg doesn't do interviews. Does it have to be Frankfurt? Doesn't Berlin do them too? (Having to go all the way from Schleswig-Holstein to Frankfurt would be so much of a hassel...)

Yes (has to be Frankfurt) - it's the only Embassy/Consulate in Germany that does K-1 (family based visa) processing.

If its a long train ride, it may be best to arrive the day before since most interviews are scheduled for early morning (and since Schleswig-Holstein couldn't be any farther north, am suggesting the overnight stay).

Only one Embassy per country, and for Germany that is in Berlin
