The ban on American tourists visiting the island and the embargo against cuban products is petty minded and stupid IMO. Incidentally hundreds of Americans visit the country each year via Mexican ports. Its ridiculous quite frankly that the government can make it a criminal offence to visit the country. After all, one can get a visa to Saudi Arabia or Iran if someone were so inclined...

In essence its not too dissimilar to the old British tory govt banning Sinn Fein leader Gerry Adam's voice from being broadcast on the news. The BBC and other news channels got around it by having the guy dubbed. Totally pointless really.

Cuba is very bad right now. Cubans get a certain amount of coffee, sugar, beans, etc a month and it is not enough to feed them for a month. Prostitution is at an all time high...

A white guy who takes tourists out on boating excursions in the Key West area told me his friends like to go to Cuba (apparently, it's no problem if you know how) because the "women are cheap and easy" out there. He was being dead serious. Kinda sad to hear, really.

According to some journalist in Miami and Venezuela from actions that are seen in Cuba and Venezuela it seems like something has happen but of course the Cuban government won’t respond. So with out collaboration from a close source no news organization is going to report it. But the thinking is that he is dead and they are trying to get as organize as they can before the news is leaked or released.

No one has seen him since Monday according to the reports I have heard.
