Help - My brother lost his alien card!

my brother's card is expiring this month and he needs it renewed.

he could not find it and he does not remember what it is (who does?)

anyway, i told him to check with my parents for the documents that we had when we were admitted here.

also, i told him to check his old passport because i read somewhere that the alien card is stamped there.

in case they are unable to find those documents, what are my brother's other options?

Thank you!!!!

(i already reprimanded him for this irresponsibility, but hey, he's my bro. i have to help him out)

Well if it was a 10-yr card then he'd just file a new I-90 form and pay $380.

Btw, doesn't he know that you're supposed to get a new card if yours is expiring within 6 months?

Have him call USCIS line.

Call the local DHS and get an INFOPASS and talk to someone in person and get their name for future referance.

You need to always keep Names Dates/Time when dealing with a problem.

Obviously (maybe not) this (below) is what he's looking for:

To replace or renew the card, use the form I-90. (A copy is required but I'd make an infopass appointment to see what else you might be able to do - or perhaps he/someone made a copy of it long ago).

the good thing is at least he doesnt have to pay twice for a new card and renewing... just get an infopass on what to put on your renewal application since the card is lost... you will be renewing your card anyway... just bring your current passport on your biometrix appointment so they can stamp it there for a year of extension while your card is still on the process....

youll be fine... just make sure you answer the application correctly and accurately.
