Is it ok to go with your SO to interview?? Sorry if it's a seemingly dumb question....my husband wanted me to check on here. He has been to the London US Embassy and knows how strict they are so I didn't want to fly over if I wouldn't be allowed to go in with him. Thanks for your helP!!!

This is a consulate specific question. Some consulates will allow a US citizen sponsor to attend the interview with the beneficiary, and others will not. Contrary to what has been stated, a US citizen CAN be denied access to an embassy or consulate. Most embassies and consulates will grant a US citizen permission to enter the embassy or consulate if the US citizen has a reason to be there, and will then only authorize them access to the section they have business with. For example, you cannot be granted entry on the basis that you have business with the US Citizen Services unit, and then attempt to enter the visa section.

The US Embassy in London will allow a US citizen sponsor to attend the interview with the beneficiary, but the US citizen sponsor must have their name entered on the security access list. You can call the embassy for instructions on how to get your name on the access list.

it really depends on the embassy. i know in india you can, but in places, ie morocco, u cannot.

How do you know you are not allowed to attend in Morocco?
