"And then in the midst of that calling, Allah then called me to run for the United States Congress. And I thought, 'what in the world would that be for?' And my husband said, 'You need to do this,' and I wasn't so sure. And we took three days and we fasted and we prayed, and we said, 'Allah is this what You want? Is this Your will?' And after the -- along about the afternoon of day two, Allah made that calling sure. And it's been now 22 months that I've been running for United States Congress. Who in their right mind would spent two years to run for a job that lasts for two years? You'd have to be absolutely a fool to do that. You are now looking at a fool follower of Allah..."

If she were a Muslim, she'd be on the watch list...

My point being that an individual muslim is off limits as far as the left and criticism is concerned. They are very careful not to say anything to offend an individual muslim, but go after Christians with complete contempt and hatred. Its ok to hate Christians, but hating anyone else is morally wrong.

Bachmann may be a nut, but that isnt' my point.

How many US politicians are Muslim? How many of them have made public statements like Rep. Bachman has said regarding her religious beliefs? And then for the real whopper...take a deep breath....what do suppose would be the reaction from the Right if US Rep. who was Muslim had said the same exact thing as her? Joseph, there's hypocrisy on both sides of the aisle.

Good I'm glad this is an admission of hypocrisy.

Luckily I don't fall on any side of the aisle, but outside the building.

Nobody is demonstrating outside her office over it. No one is demanding she remove herself from public office. She made a lunatic statement and people here lampooned her. That's pretty softball in light of how others seem to express their outrage. But if it makes you feel better, I'll take a teabag and rub it against her image on my screen right now. :jest:
