I joined that group in Facebook just to see what it was all about. Yes and I pm's some of the people on there and some of their stories are quite wild. They even post pics of men who they say have used them for various reasons. It is really crazy and funky. And some of the men who they are talking about actually defend themselves in the group so then who knows what is the truth.

There isn't a doubt in my mind that the number of fraud cases in Morocco is big, more so than alot of other countries. But I've often wondered how these women continually get scammed. I'm just saying that did doubt/red flags not present themselves at some point? Granted, I met my husband here in the States and I've never been involved via online relationship, so I don't understand this process.

I've been in a couple of very bad relationships but I accept some responsiblity as I entered INTO that relationship KNOWING these weren't the best of people and I stayed in it far too long. I just believe the signs ARE THERE, but if you choose to ignore them...well...

But if these women say they had no idea AT ALL, then Hollywood needs to be setting up shop in Maroc to harvest these impeccable actors.

I swear I'm not trying to be snarky or offensive....just honest.

This visa process is long and grueling and how one red flag never presented itself, just baffles me!

bla bla bla moroccan this moroccan that! muslim this muslim that! fed up with this #######... get a grip!

Might you need to get your own grip? Look, if I was married or had been married to someone who was a) a scam artist, b ) from a country that promulgates scam marriages, and c) didn't want any other poor soul to fall into the trap, then I would gladly make a Facebook page that talks all about the BS that I've been put through.

Now, if you're a woman or a man who is married to a Moroccan or anyone else from one of the high-fraud areas and you choose to ignore the warnings, that's your prerogative. But, women on that site have just as much right to post their crappy experiences, as that is their prerogative.

i get what yr saying, but think it's ultimately pointless (though that's not at all yr fault). plenty of marriages here on vj that have lasted and continue to be great had warning signs plastered all over them from the get-go. by this logic, a lot of women with happy, healthy, thriving marriages shouldn't have even given it a go. and plenty of the ones that seemed comparatively normal and balanced have dissolved into complete disasters within a couple of weeks of their spouse or fiance arriving in the us. there just doesn't seem to be any accounting for it. i personally think this group probably just serves as a place to vent. and it's of course their right to vent. there are more than a couple people on there as well who are downright bigots. and i don't think that helps anyone at all. it's actually really gross, regardless of them being scammed.

I think its good they post pictures in hopes that someone will find them before they prey again, but if they already have their green cards then why bother? On the other end, I also have a problem with people posting other peoples pictures on the public internet without their consent. There is no law against it though, so what can you do.,=

It does make me sad to read this. I get tired of defending my husband and his country. Yes there are a lot of scammers there. And we are all taking that risk when we decide to marry one. I am one of the one with all of the blaring red flags, but we are still together. I am so glad that I didn't base my decision on these types of comments.

I guess the key is really inside ourselves. To look as deeply into ourselves and our spouses to see if there is any basis in our own personal relationships. To open our eyes to what is going on around us, then close them when we find that these things don't have any relevance in our own lives. Yes people need to vent. But are they really so blind that they can't admit that they sometimes allow it to happen to themselves? I pity them. Most adults can and will admit their own mistakes when making a bad decision. Perhaps they just need to grow up.

Lots from Turkey, none from Morocco. I can think of a couple of people I would have love to see there.

:o That fB group makes me want to hurl. :dead:

Yeah, no kidding. Its ridiculous that a couple of women got scammed and now they are blaming an entire country for it.

I mean, come on. There are con men like that in the US too.

I love reading the pictures she posted saying.....

He MADE me do this

he MADE me do that....

blah blah blah.

Her blind ignorance is the only thing that MADE her do anything.
