Crossing over

My parents were kind enough to offer me a lift and drop me off at my fiance's house, while they go play around the US, like they usually do. LOL

My fiance thinks it a very nice gesture to pose, but he wonders if it be best if he were to pick me up at the borders?

and also i'd like to know how to go about when i'm at the border or which ever method i intend to choose to go about.

Do i just tell the border patrol that i'm wanting to activated my K-1 visa at that moment? and if by plane..do i tell the the person i give my plane ticket too.. @.@ i'm so confused.

Exactly, when you cross (whether by car or plane) tell the customs agent that you would like to cross using your K-1 visa. They will ask you for the brown envelope and show you to secondary screening.

Search the Canada forum for reviews and POE experiences so you can know what to expect.

No worries, it is easy! Good luck.

It does not matter one bit. You may choose to cross which ever way you want.

well alright then.. thanks =D

i'm abit nervous about the semi screening ..

since i read a view reviews..where they

said no to having exchanged wedding bands and

got denied entry. He didn't give me the ring as of yet

he still has it, it was being custom made at the time

he proposed and wasn't ready when he came up to

visit.. but i do have proof of purchase and a picture..

but i don't know if i should ask him to send me the ring.

i know he wouldn't want to send it..chancing to loose such

a thing going through customs and mail.

Another reason not to have the ring is that you might end up paying duty on it.

You are over thinking this one - relax, you will do fine :)

Sorry for butting in, but I wasn't aware you could cross and NOT activate the visa. Is this true? Under what circumstances can one do that?

The K1 visa has a validity period of 6 months and since Canadians can enter US without a visa it is entirely possible to go back and forth while having one and not using it. Albeit you would have to show ties to Canada if you wanted to come as visitor just like usual, especially with a fiance visa in the mix.
