OK. My husband is USC. We have a couple of COPY of his birthcertificate.

I saw interview threads and some people were asked to show the birthcertificate...

I asked him to get original one, but he born totally different state and no relative lives there so it is difficult to get it (is it?)...So he doesnot want to get it unless we definitely need it...

And I know that it takes a couple of weeks to get it...so I should prepare now if we need it...

Do we need ORIGINAL birthcertificate for the interview?

He has US passport and he thought its enough evidence to proof USC.

Thank you

You will want to provide it. I lost my original. So I oredered a certified copy online. I think it was like $25 or something. Do a search something like "Colorado Birth Certificate" w/correct state of course. Thats how I found the site. Ordered online and had it in about 2 weeks. There was an option for having them send it fed ex if you need it in a hurry.

Or wait nevermind I don't know what I'm talking about. I thought I was in the K-1 section. Sorry good luck. Hehe

Is certified copy almost same value as original?

May be it is the one... Does it look different than photo copy one?

My wife had to get a certified copy of her birth certificate from California. As we live in PA, she had to do the order by FAX and needed the services of a notary, but other than that, it took about a week and cost about $25.

The copy we recieved is a very fancy piece of colored paper, with a seal and a scan of the original birth certificate printed in the middle. It definitely is very different from a photocopy.
