we had our AOS interview yesterday at the Las Vegas USCIS Field Office. I didn't sleep at all the night before knowing that we don't have enough substantial evidence to bring. This is what we had on hand as evidence:

3 pictures from our wedding

2 sworn statements from our housemates confirming my husband residency

1 denied letter from the bank (as proof of my husband's address)

1 bank of america statement

2 life insurance policy

and TONS of PICTURES when we were in the PHILIPPINES (K-1 Filing stage)...now I thought we no longer needed these pictures because we have already submitted them before the manila interview, I was wrong. My husband INSISTED we bring it and guess what? They looked at each and every one of it (we had maybe 30 pics)

We walked in 15 minutes before our schedule but we were processed right away. Went to Room 1. There were two IO's. They talked to both of us in tandem but the assistant seemed to really observed our facial reactions while the other one was busy going through some paperworks. Questions:

to hubby:

name?

birthday?

address?

mother's name?

father's name?

day of arrival?

to both

where and when was wedding day?

where was your honeymoon at?

when did you go to the philippines?

have you met each others parents?

They browsed (really quickly, you can say it was just a glance) through the documents we brought. They took the papers in the back office and told us they need to make copies on all of them. He came back and handed them back to us. Grabbed a white paper with printed instructions. They asked both of us to sign it. So startled, I didn't even recall reading through it except for a phrase that said STEPS ON REMOVING CONDITIONS... I held my breath for a sec when I realized it was all over, we were approved. The assistant jokingly told my hubby: SO I GUESS, THE NEXT TIME I SEE YOU WILL BE ON YOUR OATH TAKING? We just giggled and headed out the door.

I recalled looking at the time 5 past 11 and we were walking back to our car. All I kept thinking was "thank you so much, thank you god!" My hubby will get his GC 5-7 days.

Thank you so much for visajourney. I'm sure if not for this site, we would never make it this far in our ordeal. but it's all good because now we can rest. For all those awaiting their AOS, it's normal to get nervous but keep in mind that lots of prayers and confidence will always help.
