Our lawyer said it is required to send divorce papers, but not marriage certificate from previous marriage, so thats what we did, just certified copy of divorce papers from my first marriage, no wedding certificate and it was fine. They want to make sure your legally divorced, they don't need you to prove you were married because divorce papers pretty much establishes that...good luck

This is my first marriage but my girlfriend who filed K-1 with her husband in Egypt sent just a copy of her divorce to NVC only and those were forwarded to embassy in Cairo and when the interview came in June they asked her husband for the orginall divorce papers. So she sent them DHL to him ($65.00) then he had to send it with the paper they gave him from the embassy and his passport back to the embassy, now they are in AP and after her email she recieved yesterday from Cairo Embassy the paperwork has went back to the NVC. So if you have orginall divorce paper I would send it to prevent anything delaying the process. Just my input.

YOU MUST ATTACH A DIVORCE DECREE FOR ALL PREVIOUS MARRIAGES , BOTH SIDES(IF APPLICABLE).AND IT WOULD BE BEST IF IT IS AN ORIGINAL COPY OR IF NOT CERTIFIED COPY BY THE RELEASING AGENCY ITSELF.USUALLY PRINTED ON A SECURITY PAPER.

So if we were both previously divorced we should send in both divorce decrees?
