HELP! Middle name mispelled.

I got the letter from NVC today, saying our case number etc. I notice my fiancees middle name was spelled incorrectly, the first letter is a M instead of an N. I called nvc and they said its already forwarded to the embassy in manila, I have to deal with them. It was mailed off on the 13th of August to the embassy. I am wondering what kind of process i will have to go thru with the embassy to get this corrected? Can my fiancee just call them with the case number and information and get it taken care of?

I would suggest that you wait until the USEM in Manila receives the approved petition from NVC and then you may ask them how to get the details corrected. I had a similar issue, but mine was an incorrect house number. I sent them a fax, as per their instruction. It didn't affect my visa interview though.

Also, make sure that you have all the duplicate copies of the documents of the I-129F petition. US Embassy will eventually know what to do and how to deal with this as they will have the petition in hand.

You see I checked my petition copies i sent, and I spelt it correct on all of them. It was an error on their part, it went through NVC and came out of NVC with the incorrect Middle name.

You should be o the safe side then. They will correct it on their end. The USEM will have the petition that you submitted and it will all be there. They will amend it on their end. Cheer up!

I just did this. When I filled out the first forms I misspelled her middle name by 2 letters. I called USICS to have it fixed to the correct spelling on her BC and they said they did. When I got the things from the NVC I saw it was still misspelled. So I called the embassy to set up the interview and asked them what to do, they said just fax them a letter stating the error with the cash # on it and a copy of her BC and it'll be fine. She assured me it only takes them a week to correct something like that so I shouldn't worry. I really hope that's the case. The process sounded painless.

my name was misspelled too as early as NOA1 so we called and were told to report the mistake right away, which we did. the correction could happen instantly or could take awhile, depending on where your papers are at the time of reporting. best thing to do is keep on following up until they show proof (NOA2) or at the interview. don't worry because up to the issuing of the visa you will still be able to request for corrections. i hope it doesn't have to take that far though.

hey i had the same problem with the middle name incorrect on my NOA1 and NOA2 but with my DS230 i sent two letters and NVC corrected it when they sent me the interview letter, good luck with visa journey. hope that u have a smooth ride till the end, abby n sheryl
