A survery was done by salary.com on the best cities in the US to live in when comparing salary,standard of living,unemployment rate.

Here is the top 10.

1: New London CT

2: Huntsville AL

3: Baltimore MD

4: Harrisburg PA

5: Tulsa OK

6: Rock island IL

7: Troy NY

8: Corpus Christi TX

9: Schenectady NY

10: Las Vegas NV

New york was listed last in the list at 188.

I know its a bit misleading but its indeed interesting.The full article can be found http://bostonworks.boston.com/galleries/best_salary_cities/

Its interesting for me and my wife as we havent decided where we want to move to once i can legally work here.

Oh, I just remembered it's JUNEAU. Stupid Canadian Juno awards.

Cleveland is high on mine and hubby's list. Cicinnati is probably number one.

I lived in Troy for a while and Schenectady is right next door. I loved Troy I just hated living in NY state. Any tax code that requires you to take some multipier out to the 4th decimal place just needs to go! And the Unions killed me!

Isn't New London CT really really expensive?

Not really, I was actually rather surprised to see that at the top of the list.

It's almost.... industrial, however there is the Coast Guard Academy and Connecticut College there.

But it's close to the Groton Sub Base, and Electric Boat, which have seen many layoffs in recent months.

There are places in Connecticut with a better economy and standard of living, by a LONGSHOT!!!

Tucson is 42, PHx and Mesa rate higher. Wages are higher in PHX/Mesa, but so is the heat.

In Tucson we are still eating Sunshine rather than having high wages, although the cost of housing is going up.

Maybe it's time to move back to PA. I see Harrisburg did well. I used to live in the Harrisburg area.
