My husband and I were just married over the summer and we are working on the initial visa paperwork for a CR1 visa. His mailing address is a PO box and I'm trying to figure out what to put on the I-130 application. It seems to me on the form that they want the physical street address but how will he receive paperwork from the embassy eventually when it is time for his interview?

Does anyone know the answer to this question? Do we put the mailing (PO Box) address or the physical (street) address?

Thank you so much!

If his mailing address is a PO Box thats fine, many rural places have them, I have seen post on this subject and USCIS has mailed to a PO BOX.

Well, if we were dealing with common sense then they would have stated "Mailing" or "Permanent" address on the form. Also, when I called the so-called customer service line then they would not have told me that the answer was found in the instructions (which it is not) and that if it wasn't in the instructions then to hire a "professional form preparer" and then tell me "Ma'am I'm not allowed to answer your question." So, the problem is that we're not dealing with common sense here and the worry is that if we fill out the form incorrectly, it will get sent back after sitting there collecting dust for 5 months and then we get to fill it out all over again and start the 5 months waiting AGAIN. I mean do we really need to hire a lawyer to tell us PO Box or physical address? Apparently so...which is not a good use of common sense. So, if people have questions because they are concerned about their application being rejected I thought this was a forum where you could ask without being criticized.

Our time line for CR1 visa took only 5 months and 1 week or 156 days; from the filing the I-130 on the 03-12-2009 to Approval of NOA2 on the 05/13/2009, then Interview on the 08/18/2009 at Manila, Philippines. We had a daughter on the 11-12-2010 named AISHA JOY means HAPPY LIFE.a1_opt-1.jpga2_opt-1.jpga3_opt-1.jpg

Your not being criticized, it's common sense one address and one only! It will not be rejected I'll bet-ya it will go to the address on the form(s) and not the cover letter. Now thats common sense!
