I'm sure my employer would rather pay the penalty and pass it on to me.

If the penalty on my wages were to go into effect, I could purchase health insurance coverage for myself and my husband from the new public plan for about $100 less per pay period than what my employer offers to me now.

I'd be thrilled with that.

The link I put up was not about a public plan at all but what is floating around in the bills about mandates requiring employees or employers having to make sure of coverage of all and the mandates on they can't charge more for it. There is way they can say they will not tax the middle class and it was showing how there are ways it gets paid for by hidden taxes. It is all well and good to say one is not going to tax the middle class but if there wages are lessened then that is a tax and when the poor are unable to get a job because of increases of costs then that is a tax on all as we now have to fund services for that individual.

Yes - too bad that civilization and industry came along so that a person doesn't have to go out and kill their supper with a spear or else starve.

A real shame that we have to find other things to do on a weekend that don't involve pillaging the next village - killing its men, raping its women and selling the children into slavery.

Too bad that children born with disabilities aren't strangled at birth or left for the wolves.
