My 325A is wrong!!! Need advice...

Hi! I sent in the I-130 last week. When my husband was filling out his 325A after we got married in Finland, he asked his mother for her birthplace and she gave it to him. Just now he looked at a copy of his birth certificate as we were on the phone chatting, and the city is listed different. He explained that when his mother was born, it was the name she rattled off to him. It was then renamed (taken over by the Russians during the war or something like that). So...she gave the right name of her birthplace at the time she was born, but it's a totally different name than what's listed on his BC (name change had already occurred when he was born!). So now what????? Will this hurt us down the road? Do they even care? Any advice is appreciated-thanks!

If this makes so sense, basically my hubby's mother's birthtown in Finland that's on his 325A is different than what's on his birth certificate!

I wouldn't worry about it. She didn't make a lie out of her birthplace. At some point back in history that was the real name of the place and that's what's written in BC. So, don't bother...

From personal experience, this is a non-issue. I listed both my parents' birth places incorrectly on the G-325A (the places they were born in were not actual cities when they were born - unlike they are now). Make sure on the DS-230 (close to the end of NVC) that you correct the mistake and you'll be fine.

Yea, i had my mother-in-laws birth date off by one day for the G325A, and it still got approved. During the NVC stage ill correct it to the right date.
