Hi – after MANY MANY MANY delays – we got our approval for a K-1 visa on July 13. We were told to pick it up July 22… Today is August 17th, and we still do not have a visa.

I have called the embassy, they keep telling me “the visa isn’t printed, we don’t know when it will be printed, you have to wait.” We have been at this over a year – and it is very frustrating to be approved and keep getting the run around.

Friday August 14th, the embassy told us the visa was printed and in transit to Haiti Messanger, and he promised we would have it either Friday or Monday. We don’t have it.

Has this happened to anyone else? Thoughts? Suggestions? What can I do?

Bummer! I am having many issues with my case as well. What I do and what I suggest you do is not to give up! Keep calling/writing/whatever(!) until you are HEARD! Contact your Senators, ask for different people at the embassy, tell the people at the embassy you have contacted your Senator as well as any other government agency possible. Contact the embassador, conatact your governor...anyone and everyone. Pester them until they give you that visa!! Good luck!

I have calls into my senator! Waiting to hear back...

Talked to the same guy at the embassy (the one who told me that my visa was printed and in transit and he PROMISED I would have it by today) - he said - the visa isn't printed, call back on Friday and we will be able to tell you when you can pick it up...with no answer as to WHY the lying...FRUSTRATION!!!!!!!!!!!!! But - I can crawl up someone's rear with the best of them - so I guess I will have to step up to twice daily calls!

I just WISH there was some recourse here - some way to hold them accountable!!!!

Moved from AOS forum to Embassy and Consulate forum

“...Isn't it splendid to think of all the things there are to find out about? It just makes me feel glad to be alive--it's such an interesting world. It wouldn't be half so interesting if we knew all about everything, would it? There'd be no scope for imagination then, would there?”

So - It turns out that waiting to print is code for something else... got contacted by Senator's case worker, they want my fiance re-fingerprinted...who knew...the case worker said to call back, as she had different contacts than I could get...

moral of this story - call you senator for help...

We are waiting to receive our interview date in Haiti...I hope this is not how most cases are going!!! Maybe you can help me with a question...to schedule your interview, did you have to personally take in your medical exam to the consulate and then they scheduled the interview for you to return in about 2 weeks? That is what I was told last week by the embassy, but it seems odd to me...
