Sorry for not filling out timeline, just wanted to tell you my experience and the stupidity of the guy that interviewed us.. My wife came here on K1 visa, had AOS interview this morning in San Bernardino. Everything was going good in the interview, asked my wife about those yes/no questions of committing crime, etc. Then he turns to me.. looks at my birth cert. and say this is a copy. I was born in New Orleans 30 years ago and this is what my parents gave me and this is what I have. It looks old and flimsy but the seal is on there. Its what I used to get my passport and what I used to get my wife over here! He compared our marriage license to my brirth cert. and he goes, this is what its suppose to look like, color, nicely decorated, etc...I was like, this is what my parents gave me and this is what the hospital gave us. Then I was like, I have my passport as proof that I am a U.S Citizen. Then he said, they let you get a passport with this birth cert. And I was like YES!

SO I gave him my passport and he looks at it, and he goes how come there isn't any re-entry stamps on your passport when you came back to the U.S? I was like, they don't stamp your passport, I am U.S Citizen there is no need to stamp my passport when I enter the U.S. The guy was like, well they suppose to stamp it, how come they didn't stamp it?.. I had no reply except, I do not know. Then he ask, how come you don't have stamps for Vietnam?. And I told him to go to Vietnam you have to get a Visa to go. When you go they stamp your visa and when you leave Vietnam they take your Visa.

Sadly he was like, ok I need to review your documents and if anything we will tell you 30 days later. Then I was like, we have pictures, documents, etc... and he was like.. no thank you. :crying: Why they giving us such a hard time.. its been over 3 years going on 4..! OMG! My plane ticket and everything I brought and he still didn't wana see it..! such BS.. sorry just ranting.. and venting... sigh... Good luck to the rest of you..So I am guess they will be check my house and coming over for a visit? and visiting my work?...

Wow, Tony, that seems so weird that they would mess with you that badly at an AOS interview. It seems like if there was a problem, they would have addressed it at the consulate interview. I am sorry to hear that. I wish you the very best!

I know.. we were so close.. I was like.. this seems easy enough. But why nit-pick on my stuff?. If I was illegal, they would've gotten me by now, I don't think I would've gotten this far... now probably a few months wait... I had more tears in my eyes than my wife.. she didn't understand until I told her.. she was smiling all the way until I stood up and was like.. we failed.. now we have to wait again..
